This has been on my radar for a while...Can any of my PAL buddies confirm this game is something special? This really could be a surprise hit on Wii. Turned out great based on videos.

The trailer looks stunning, hopefully as fun as it looks. Also looks like it has excellent wii-mote ideas, like pointing the flash light, doing opening movements to open stuff, etc.

People asking about 3.3 like one hour after the game is leaked, why dont you download it yourselves and let us know, give something back to the scene for once.!

Sheesh

i know what you mean but i think those who own both wii & xbox360 are better of getting this game for wii & save their xbox360 for the exclusive like gears2..etc this way they will hopefully get more use out of the fragile box..
or you download both versions

First impressions:

Graphics:
Very nice atmosphere, good use of textures, models seem a bit low res but hey at least it looks pretty sharp compared to some other wii games.

Controls:
They seem to be a bit dodgy. Wii remote makes the camera go all over the place. You can use a nunchuck swing method to do something or push a button on the wii remote. that works quit well.

Gameplay:
Have been annoyed with this already. When you die, you get put back before the start of an upcoming cutscene or conversation. The cutscenes you can skip but the in game conversations you cannot. This makes you bored when you have to repeat something. You can switch between first person and third person but as I said before, the camera is all over the place.

Will continue my playing session right now and post some further impressions later on

Updated impressions:

So far I have put out fires, drove a car, used a gun and did some climbing and jumping sections

Graphics:
It looks good enough. It's sharp and the atmosphere has been very good so far. They put a lot of effort into little details here and there. The movies look very bright though. Dunno why.

Controls:
It's messy for the most part. Getting stuff out of your inventory is tricky sometimes. It responds well but there are still problems with everything you have to do. For example. You can switch between first person and 3rd person but when you pick up an item or when an in game cutscene starts the game changes between these perspectives whenever it pleases. Very frustrating.

Camera:
The camera is horrible in Third Person and goes acts very swingy and jerky in First Person.

Gameplay:
It has some very refreshing gameplay elements, that's for sure but the way it introduces them to you sucks. It tries to show you tips sometimes for the controls, but you'll be scratching your head on what to do next a lot of times because they didn't tell you what to do clearly enough. If only they used their gameplay hints better! It wouldn't have helped.

Example:
On a certain moment you get stuck in a little room with a woman. In one of the previous rooms you had to break down a door by using an ashtray. In this room I had to do the same so I was swinging the big ashtray stand at this door and it wouldn't do anything. After 20 minutes I found it you can do 2 different wiimote swings which means I could do a low swing to crush the first part of the door and then I could continue... sucks!

The rope swinging/climbing/jumping is also a frustration. You'll fall down from a building just because the game decided you didn't land close enough to an edge while I was clearly far enough...
Maybe I just suck at swinging/jumping? hehe

Driving a car is a chore. Boy does it suck. You can go forward by pressing the B trigger on the wiimote and you can go backwards when pressing Z on the nunchuck. But it responds very badly and I sure as hell can't drive for shit!

Play it?
So, if you're wondering if this game sucks? Perhaps... I haven't given up on it which means a lot! It has some fun elements and It's interesting to see some new wiimote interactions. Give it a shot because it's not all that horrible if you can stand some frustration.

everything about this game is awful, weak wii graphics, annoying gameplay..etc

tbh if it wasn't for nintendo's first party games i wouldn't look twice at the wii.
