I replaced version 1.2 with a new one that fixes the issue Wormi mentioned. I hope it works correctly now
 
Sorry, I found another crash

In the final boss cutscene, when King transforms into the evil one the game crashes right after his transformation (Before Raio says "King! What happened to you?!")
but only if you replay it from the G-center after beating the game.
I believe there is a slight difference in dialogue when you beat it for the second time because the crash does not occur during the story.
It specifically crash when the flag for the "Matter Invert" quest has been completed.
Skipping the cutscene by pressing start allows to play the quest without crash, fortunately

Thanks. If I can take a look at it before my vacation, I’ll do it. Otherwise, it might take a few weeks before I can upload a new patch. I think you’re right that the game treats the normal story and quests differently

Is there a specific point it's crashing at? Maybe I can take a look at it.
And by point I mean point in dialogue.

I believe it is in script 190 or 191 depending on how you index

OK so from what I've been able to find out from my tool is that there are a bunch of strings that might have been improperly replaced or something because I'm getting a lot of nonsense strings and a lot of untranslated strings. I'd love it if you can provide me with your save file so I can just test the exact moment and what occurs before and after.

I found the issue. It's related to 192. I started my numbering at 1, so the first script_data file is script_data_001. Both 192 and 193 use a different pattern for the strings, and my tool is doing something wrong during reimport. Normally, a string ends with the end marker 24007700. However, these two (192 and 193) are different because this end marker isn't used everywhere, and I used a different end marker for the strings instead. Unfortunately, this doesn't work correctly. The next sequence is FFFF00FFFF, which I think marks the end of the textbox. However, my tool imports 20FF00FFFF instead. With the original script_data, you have to press a button to advance the textboxes during the cutscene, but with my patch, they advance automatically. I'm going to try to fix my tool now, and then everything should work normally again.

I suspect the same problem might occur if the game accesses 193 after the fight.
The only thing that surprises me is that it works without any problems outside the quest, in the normal story mode. After the fix, I’ll check whether it works in story mode, just to make sure it doesn’t cause any issues there.

yea find the japanese rom, download the patch, and use a ip patch to fuse them.
