ACNH 60 FPS + SpeedFix runs Animal Crossing: New Horizons at 60 FPS with the game at its normal speed. For game versions 3.0.0 to 3.0.3, on Switch (Atmosphere) and on Ryujinx, Citron and Eden.

Why "SpeedFix"
ACNH times its logic by frames, not seconds, so a plain 60 FPS patch makes everything run twice as fast: walking, text, animations, villagers, weather. SpeedFix halves the per-frame speeds and doubles the frame-counted timers, so you get the smoother picture at the normal pace.

Switch
  • Held 60 FPS with a sys-clk with a profile: CPU 1785 / GPU 844 / memory 1600 MHz on a 2017 Switch, handheld on a full-power charger.
  • Docked at 1080p the game runs at about 45 FPS, which makes the game play slower. Forcing handheld mode (ReverseNX-RT, needs SaltyNX) gives the TV 720p at 60.
  • Not for battery play: remove the mod first (both parts, see GitHub).

PC: Ryujinx, Citron or Eden at normal emulation speed, on a PC that holds a steady 60.

Download: GameBanana. Source and full notes: GitHub.

Back up your save first (JKSV or Checkpoint). Don't use it with other 60 FPS mods or FPSLocker.

A 45 FPS version is in the works. Feedback and bug reports welcome!

Wow, seeing the game at 60fps look unreal...It's still not perfect with some kind of stutter on my Switch Lite.
I'm looking forward for the 45 fps mods, thanks a lot!!!

Going back and forth between 45 and 60fps mod, it definitely more smooth at 45fps...My villager feel heavy to move when running and exploring at 60fps, that's really my impression.

Also i noticed the fish got scare less quickly with the mods...It could be a good thing XD

If you're not on sys-clk yet, try it: make a custom profile, overclocking the CPU and GPU (RAM default) and keep the Lite plugged into the charger while you play at 60. At stock clocks the V1 Switch can't hold 60 in this game, but the Lite has the newer, more efficient chip (the same one as the 2019 Switch). With sys-clk it should hold 60 at least as well as the 2017 Switch.

Since the game counts time in frames, every drop slows everything down a bit, which is the heavy feeling. 45 is easier to hold, so it feels smoother without an overclock. For the fish, I'll check how they react when you run near them.
