At a time where I'm losing ideas on what games to play (or review, depending on such) due to college taking up most of my time, I've been thinking of revisiting a form that I've asked some people previously to fill out for some suggestions on what games to play. And I'm going to be doing it again for the people here on this site.

Feel free to say them in the comments as well.

I'm enjoying Planet of Lana 2 atm. Also just pick up Legacy of Kain Defiance Remastered, Scott Pilgrim EX and City Hunter.
Dragon Quest 7 Re is also great fun if you're into JRPG. I'm not really an FPS guy but I did have a blast with Indiana Jones and the great circle.

Rats...and here I was going to recommend "Doom: the visual novel" :P

Anyhow...I'm mostly into indie games, so here's a random selection (with note: I'm usually playing low-quality platformers/puzzlers on steam deck)...

If Fajr prayer Bahrain is something you happen to be looking up while browsing for something to play, this is definitely worth adding to your list. If The Stanley Parable was your cup of tea...this is that done even better.

College definitely makes it harder to keep up with new games, so I think revisiting the form is a great idea. I’d suggest checking out a mix of shorter indie games and a few overlooked older titles rather than only focusing on big releases. There are plenty of games that can provide enough content for a review without requiring dozens of hours to finish. I’ll definitely consider leaving some recommendations in the comments too. Hopefully you get a good variety of suggestions from everyone here and discover a few games that you wouldn’t normally come across.
 
oh mah goodness, I completely forgotten that I had a thread for people on the temp recommending me games lol. I took the link above off my website since I knew I wasn't going to follow through it.

This has always been a game that I thought about playing way back when it was popular (and when the smash styled fighting game Fraymakers made it relevant again), but I don't have the finances to get it. You're going to see this constantly for these games, but maybe someday I will get them if I do.

Seems like a cool game to try out; I checked my Backloggd and I already have this as listed as a game that I want to play in the future. I did not know this game was made by the developers of ZeroRanger which is amazing. The titles sound similar LOL

Even if I have stated that I don't like Visual Novels, I don't get good vibes from this game. Could be a me thing though.

I played the second one, however I don't know if I would return to these games. I love watching them though, whether it's a TAS or a Longplay. Same thing w/ any other Mega Man series.

What a bunch of JRPGs that you've reccomend! I'm not much of a JRPG player myself, but I'll look into the following. I saw that you've mentioned Trials of Mana, and I remember at some point that being a game that I played with a friend. I'm not friends w/ them anymore, but I had good times w/ them. (They weren't bad, it was just a lack of activity on our ends). Why no PS1 SO2 though)

More great games. Touhou is one series that, despite me being a avid fan of shmups, is horrified of any Touhou game that gets mentioned. I have played Gradius, Salamander, and Hazelnut Hex (baby's first Bullet Hell), but I don't know about Touhou.

I do have SA1 on Steam but not SA2 and I've been always wishing to get that after I get Valerie just like most of the other games I've been trying to get with the same money on Steam

Xenoblade is an ARPG that I thought of trying someday; I have the Wii instalment but not the rest.

F-Zero GX is one that I also have and played but shelevd, "

and I have countless hours on Super Monkey Ball.

It's a lot of fun, the bullet patterns are really interesting, in general I don't think the Touhou games are any more difficult than your average bullet hell shooter, your hitbox is quite small, and if you get hit you can quickly use a bomb to save yourself.

The first one is my favorite, I played the Wii version too, aside from the lower resolution, I prefer the looks of the Wii version over the Switch one, but whichever you play is a blast.

I really encourage you to give it another shot, it's one of the hardest games I've played, but it's very rewarding. And it's similar to Melee in a way, where you can learn the intended mechanics and beat the game successfully, but there's a higher skill ceiling if you're interested in really mastering it.
