Two Nintendo Directs announced for next week, set to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Zelda and showcase games launching this year for Switch 2

After much speculation, Nintendo have today announced not one, but two Nintendo Direct presentations. Both are set to air next week, with the first being 30 minutes long and dedicated to the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. This will be followed the next day by a 45 minutes long showcase of Switch 2 games launching towards the end of the year.

Both presentations will go live at 3pm here in the UK in their respective days, and be available to watch through the usual channels.

So exciting!

It's almost the same excitement I had reading my 90s magazine before "Zelda 64" came out.
Hope to see a return of the classic formula with upgraded gameplay, story and elements!
Wish Nintendo went back to the OoT & TP formula... a new Zelda title with real Dungeons, real Items, real Story, real Gameplay and Unreal Engine for 4K graphics.

Tears of the kingdom came out 3 years ago, so they should be halfway through the next title

I wonder if it's late enough in development to show us a sneak peek

Hopefully we go back to real Zelda instead of watered down Dark Souls.

Interesting tidbit

Zelda games typically are shown off ~30 months after the last game

It's now been 40 months

We should be seeing the new game very soon
(Last column, time from last game release to next game reveal)

So you're suggesting two announcements?
OoT and another Zelda?

What if it's OoT and MM ?

I hope OOT Remake will not be strictly a 1:1 remake...
I hope for new hidden dungeons, or new contents in some sorts apart from qol features.

Aside the obvious deep dive in the remake we're guaranteed to get, I hoping for Oracle of Ages & Seasons remake announcements, or maybe an entirely new top-down Zelda. I'm thinking it's a bit too early for a new 3D Zelda announcement unfortunately.

As for the next day general direct, I'm guessing the climax will be a new 3D Mario title. I would love a new Donkey Kong Country too, the last one was released 12 years ago already.
