Hey everyone,
some of you might remember SMO3DS, the Super Mario Odyssey-inspired 3DS project that I mainly worked on.

The Project was originally started by SomeRandoLameo, whereas Moddimation later took over development and kept the project going.
It came to a standstill due to legal and private concerns.

But now the project is being brought back by the original developer, SomeRandoLameo!
The new SMO3DS is being developed using Polyphase, rather than Unity.

The goal is not to revive the old Unity version, partly due to legal concerns.
This time the project will keep the hardware limitations in mind, and try to be more organized overall.

There's still a lot of work ahead, so the project is seeking for people who would like to help with the project:

Programmers
Polyphase supports Lua and C++, so experience with either is ideal

3D Modellers / Texture Artists
We need help working with Super Mario Odyssey assets, adapting and improving models where necessary and optimizing things for the 3DS.

UI Designers
We're looking for people who can come up with layouts that actually feel natural on the system instead of simply trying to squeeze the original UI onto a smaller display.
We're specifically looking for people who actually know their craft and want to contribute directly. Using AI as a replacement for the actual coding, modeling, or design work is not what we are looking for.
Also, we will not pay, as this is supposed to be a public project driven by the community.

This is still a work in progress, but it'd be great to have more than one drive the project, which would otherwise be close to impossible to maintain.

If you're interested in contributing, want to follow development, or just have questions, join our Discord
You can also check out the project on GitHub
