Amidst news of layoffs and cancellations in the wake of Xbox's larger changes, Bethesda has today come out with a statement discussing their active projects. In this we see Bethesda's three major focuses in Starfield, Fallout, and The Elder Scrolls. Outside of confirming that both Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls 6 are still in active development, we get some new news in the announcement of remasters for both Fallout 3 and New Vegas. You can find this announcement below.

The Future of Fallout said:
Fallout is one of our biggest priorities today. Fallout 5 remains our long-range destination, and we have multiple Fallout projects in active development right now.

Fallout 76 continues to be home to millions of players exploring Appalachia together. With nearly 70 free updates released to date, the journey is far from over. In fact, we have a major Fallout 76 expansion planned for next year: Raven Rock, a prequel story to Fallout 3.

Fallout 4, the most award-winning game in the franchise, just celebrated its 10-year anniversary and recently passed over 35 million copies sold, continuing to attract a new audience every year.

We also know many players want to revisit previous Fallout experiences. While we're not announcing any dates today, we have been working on remasters for both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.

Fallout Shelter continues to be the most popular way to experience Fallout on the go, with more than 250 million players. There’s more ahead for Fallout Shelter, including new Seasons. An unscripted Fallout Shelter television project is also in the works with our partners at Amazon Studios and Kilter Films.

We'd like to congratulate Kilter Films and Amazon Studios on the 10 Emmy nominations for Fallout Season 2. Production on Season 3 is already underway.

And while we won't host a traditional Fallout Day broadcast this year, we're already planning something special for Fallout's 30th anniversary in 2027, when Fallout Day will be celebrated live in Washington, D.C.

At the time of writing, no release window has been announced for either title. Those interested in the full statement can find it linked below.

I can finally experience new Vegas!

I tried years ago and my impatient ass wasn’t dealing with the no sprinting 💀
You'd be better off to grab one of the many mods that add sprinting, tbh. The game is still pretty unstable but chances are high it's still much more stable than the remaster will be, especially if the Oblivion Remaster was anything to go by.

remasters are the lazy way of the gaming industry trying to cash in without doing anything exciting. i can see remastering 20+year old games but games that arent that old and have mods from community that bring about some modern changes dont need to be remastered.

id rather see new games than remasters personally.

sigh
hopefully they don't abandon these two in a horrid, unoptimized, broken state like they did for oblivion
its kinda interesting how since the oblivion remaster sold well bethesda thinks that people were happy with the remaster and it was a success. I thought it was complete garbage because of all of the bugs and broken stuff that they never fixed. glad im not alone in that thinking

guess these gaming companies just dont have the same mindset as gamers do.

They must really be desperate for good PR at Microsoft to announce shit that won't see the light of day for many years to come.
