What is with these revival projects obsession with discord? its like a mental illness, just have a github and an email/bug reporting page and shut up, this should be against the rules

if its actually open source you should share a link to the git repo, "source code in the discord announcement" makes me inclined to believe this is purely vibecoded and wont be maintained properly

Assuming this is about discord, There are three big problems with releasing any sort of software on it.
1) you need to join the discord server. This means you need to get an account, and have a valid invite.
2) discord isn't designed for software releases. This makes it a pain to find anything on it, whether we are talking about older versions, issue tracking, or the FAQ/knowledge base.
3) If the discord server goes down you lose EVERYTHING. A forum or subreddit can be archived. A discord server is gone forever if it ever gets nuked.

ETA: Complaining about discord aside It is nice to see badges brought back, considering that they were removed quite early IIRC. Also, i thought there was another way to inject 3ds home menu themes. Is this for recovering the original ones that are now lost?

If someone manages to read this I read in /r/3dshacks the reason they want to use discord is because the service relies on someone's proxy service
