Out of all Nintendo mobile games, this is the one I hated the most, and I'm extremely glad to hear that it's going to die soon.

Oh, i really enjoy this game from time to time. Its simple and has really nice graphics.

What kills this game (and all other Nintendo games on mobile) are the thousands of microtransactions.

The only thing I like are the courses based on real-life cities, but it doesn't matter that much anyway.

Jokes on them. I enjoy the game and never spent a cent on it. The game is 100% playable and enjoyable without paying Nintendo.

I never spend money on games that use micro transactions or that use the Fremium formula.

For example, i play to this day World of Tanks on the Xbox, since it came out on the 360, and never ever paid a cent. I play with friends, and we have fun and a huge collection of tanks.
But i do know some people who have spent fortunes on that game, LoL. Guess they pay for me :rofl2:

I think Ligeia meant it as, some people managed to bring Miitomo or Dragalia Lost back on private servers, to mention only these

If someone tried to revive Mario Kart Tour this way, Nintendo would most likely DMCA them.

To whoever cares, I have backed up all the Nintendo + Pokémon game assets that the game downloads from the CDN to the WayBack Machine. It's the raw URLs the game assets to download assets. I'll do this for Mario Kart Tour, I have done it a couple times for older versions. I'm sure the assets will remain on people's devices past the discontinuation though. Just I have some tricks up my sleeve to grab the asset URLs, stick them into WayBack Machine, and that is that. The game uses certpinning though, which deters people from proxying requests, however I still can do it

All the good/decent tracks have been ported to MK8 booster pack anyway. Shout out to Vancouver stage, not a homeless person anywhere in the city.

I think the reason that Nintendo's shutting down the game is because they aren't making a profit. Yes, crap is happening around the gaming industry as we speak.

But being logical, I heard they only made a couple hundred million dollars on microtransactions on this game, while Fire Emblem Heroes has generated over $1 billion.

There are no ads in the games, Gold Pass yearly costs 3 times the amount of a yearly normal online subscription... With there being lawsuits and criticism with the ruby system, I'm sure that there's reasons for this. Oh, and the names foe CPUs being of random player's names.

Super Mario Run has been going on for longer, I guess they still run it because they use it as a tool for marketing new Mario games, and also it has a onetime fee to start playing. Tetris 99 does the same thing with games.

Super Mario Run has the Toad rallies, however I would guess that running stuff like Mario Kart Tour takes up more resources since it has things like a online mutiplayer... I wish they made an offline version for Tour like they did with Animal Crossing, but I guess that would require some maintenance as well for bugdixes

Maybe, maybe not, because either of these projects requires you to find the files yourself, they are just patches
