Hello everyone!

I'd like to share another homebrew project idea: a Super Mario Galaxy demake for the Nintendo 3DS.

I know that a full port of the original game isn't realistic, but I think it would be interesting to create a new version designed specifically for the 3DS.

The idea would be to:

- Recreate the Galaxy-style gameplay with simplified graphics
- Design smaller planets and levels
- Keep mechanics such as gravity, Star Bits, and Power Stars where possible
- Optimize everything for the 3DS hardware

The goal wouldn't be to perfectly recreate the Wii game, but to capture the spirit of Super Mario Galaxy in a way that works well on the 3DS.

I'm not a programmer, but I'd be happy to contribute with ideas, testing, and feedback.

Would anyone be interested in a project like this? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for reading!

Oh, you don't say?

The same thing I posted in your other thread applies here. Please stop making threads like this.

... The difference is that someone actually has made decent progress in making an actual version of Mario Galaxy for the original DS. Googling for details is left as an exercise.

A full port is 99% going to happen. This game is so popular and nostalgic and there is already a WIP decomp. This will get ported to every platform possible after PC, once the decomp is complete. It will just take time, as the decomp still has a long way to go.

FYI, there is a demake on DS that you may be interested in:

I was thinking about this not too long ago and wondered what happened with it after looking at that thread it looks like nothing has happened in 2 years sad.
not to derail too much but does anybody know what happened with the super mario sunshine ds hack/port from years ago?
back on topic I've seen a number of topics like this maybe it's time for a sticky with info for people that don't know what's involved with porting games to 3ds and other older consoles/handhelds in general. these projects take a lot of work and time which is why you see so many that never get finished.

I mean this with respect, but if you want this project to happen, you have to either learn programming and how 3DS homebrew works, or some other area you could potentially contribute to this like 3D modeling. Or alternatively pay someone to work on it. These things take time, passion and dedication, nobody is gonna work on it just because someone gave an idea.

They should be instabanned since they are a complete waste of time and lead to nothing ever being developed.

Or should I go ahead and pre-announce my demake of Red Dead Redemption 2 for Gameboy Advance?
