I've done a few HD packs for PCSX2, where I have fully re-created the texture, not taking base textures and simply running them through an app to multiply its dimensions and apply filters.

I was going to do Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2, but this game is a nightmare with it having thousands of textures (repeated at different sizes and again as mips), so ill do this one overtime.

In the meantime I have decided to remaster Resident Evil, unlike my other remasters, I plan on creating TWO versions in this pack.

Pack One
Will aim to make textures more realistic, ALL pre-rendered backgrounds will be fully re-created adding more detail to emphasise on the horror atmosphere.

Pack Two
Will re-create textures, including ALL pre-rendered backgrounds to look Cell-Shaded as if it were a GameBoy Advanced game with a cartoonish art style.

The screenshot above is of Pack One's Title Screen.

Sorry to hear about Soul Reaver 2 being a royal B*tch but that's to be expected from what I've heard. Your approach to making the Resident Evil pack is a nice touch as it offers two different ways to tackle or make of use the same thing. While I'm always a person that will crank the resolution to max even if my Asus 3080 starts to cry :rofl2: there is something to be said keeping faithful to the source material so when using a pack I tend to do just that. Good luck and if you run into any boulders in your path just remember punch them :grog:.

Thanks

With Soul Reaver 2 it'll say have face texture 5 times, then each version of them will have like 5 mip files, then same again for them.

And LOL at the boulder reference (RE5 I could probably do an epic job at if I knew a way of getting its textures) and also the boulder part in RE1 (PS1) I used to hate when you only had a DPAD (before its Directors Cut came out).

Here's a few examples
