Sony is weird though. All of their formats failed to become standard and were niche formats at best, and now they finally have one that has won the format wars and become ubiquitous, and they're abandoning it. It's like those dogs that chase after cars. They have no idea what they would do with one if they ever caught it.

Because they can make more money on SSD prices. The amount to print to bluray is still pretty expensive so if Sony can abandoned production of BD in a world where everything is basically digital it makes sense as a business move despite liking physical or media. Storage space is winning the market this Gen.
