Putting the blame for their greedy decisions onto us, classy.
Yeah... im not gonna buy a PS6 unless it gets hacked.
If i buy console games i want a disc or i may as well just get it for free.
The only advantage of buying games is getting the disc, having something to hold in your hands.
Why would i pay for something that i can get completely for free and its indistinguishable from the paid product?
 
End of the road for me and playstation then.

Digital is just way too expensive on consoles here. I doubt there will be much competition between the retailers that sell games when it's just a digital code.

Not necessarily, so long as they're treated like current physical media is there's a chance retail will still get cheaper, quicker than the PS store.

Doesn't help that Sony has a monopoly on digital sales as of now so it's hard to judge and so far most CiaB I've seen has been budget (re-)releases.

I think GTA VI will be the test for this hypothesis.
 
One thing I can say: Thank you, Sony for my sense of vindication today!

People used to call my "SteamCards" stupid. "You can't make physical games for PC." Well I did and now look at the sorry ass state of physical gaming on consoles! 🤣
 
I just won't buy Playstation games anymore and move to PC and Nintendo Switch 2.

Options like Steam Deck/Gaming Handhelds, Steam Machine, my Mac with Crossover and Arm Windows VM and Switch are more practical for me anyways.
