This is the manual option.

That is probably because you already updated manually, or because you launched the EPI updater from ARK.

No, we (or more specifically, isage) are working on creating a way to launch Adrenaline from an app URL (similar to what retroarch does). With that done, it will be possible for custom launchers to launch the Adrenaline game directly, and for people to create bubbles that launch Adrenaline with a game set. No ETA on that, it will be done when it is done.

Question around savestates. In my experience, around 50% of PSP games that I play through Adrenaline have sound issues when saving or loading states. Do you know of any plans to improve this in the development builds?

If it is only happening during the save and load os the state, that is understandable, as they save/load the entire PSPemu RAM state to/from a file.

Is there a reason why isage doesn't create a fork adrenaline bubble manager to update it to be compatible with the newer adrenaline releases?

Not as simple as that, for one, the app that creates the bubbles requires Adrenaline to work in a specific way. It comes with its own modified version of Adrenaline that is partially closed-source (not even going to get into the legal issues of that), and the "specific way" the game launches is the closed-source parts of the code. (Originally, nothing of the modified version was open source). Shipping untrusted blobs is not something we like. We could reverse, but at the current state of the VITA scene, it seems we may have better options, like the mentioned app URL. Also, none of the people working on Adrenaline cares about creating launchers.

With the app URL, not only it is a better "standard" (not too many homebrew use this yet, but it is also the way it is done when official apps launch other apps with parameters), it also makes it easier for anyone who cares to create a launcher (or add support to launching Adrenaline v8.0.0 in their launcher), while also making us Adrenaline devs only need to maintain the launch-from-app-URL feature.

The issue happens when saving or loading a state, but persists i.e. the background music and or sound effects won't come back, even if I try to retrigger them through the in game sound settings. I was just wondering if anyone was looking into a fix for this. It's not a huge deal for me, but it would improve adrenaline overall I feel. Also just wanted to say thank-you Gray jack and Isage, you are doing incredible work for the vita scene!

I see. I didn't know that part of ABM is closed source, which sucks but at least there's an alternative in the works. Thx for the clarification

I see, so it persists. Does it happen in all games?

No, that issue was not reported to us before, and not me, nor isage or even meetpatty are huge savestate users ourselves. I do have one save state that I use eventually for testing purposes, but I do not have this issue with that particular savestate.

If you can, open an issue on GitHub and share with us as many details as you have for this bug (bug description, plugins that you have on vita, plugins that you have on Adrenaline, game titles that you noticed the bug happening, etc). If you can't, let me know that I'll open the issue tracker, but I'll need those informations, send them here or DM me.

I'd say it happens on about 50% of the PSP titles I play. PS1 games through adrenaline is a different story, savestates are near perfect.

Ok great I'll open the issue on the GitHub dev branch. One example right now I can think of; Killzone Liberation background sound effects disappear and don't come back, also same thing with Manhunt 2.
