Nintendo CRUSHED Sony and Microsoft on this round of June events. Waiting 7 months for a major Direct was worth every second, we got the greatest one since E3 2019.

My comment from the other thread - don't know why there are two threads on same topic.

Ms. Nintendo Critical is in the building!
As I say on my YouTube channel, I'm Nintendo's biggest fan, and their biggest critic!
- I'm going to give an adult point of view, as some people's minds haven't matured enough to see the crap Nintendo does with a clear lense.

- This direct was a middle finger to their fans, old ass ports of games that have been out for years, that will still be the worst versions or downgrades of the others.
- More paid DLC, with ignorant release dates and costs, for minimal changes aka Xeno series!
- A Bunch of mobile games, called new games, basically shovelware crap games to fill in the gaps.
- A lot of 3rd parties that will be out on other systems that will run and look better via Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
- And last thing was that garbage announcement for Zelda OOT reboot, or remake, etc.
Basically made people sit through an hour of garbage, only to show Link laying in a bed for 6 seconds.
- This was a big middle finger to all their fans, who were only watching this direct just for Zelda, lol.

Nintendo does not care about their fans, this is strictly business at this point, and what you want doesn't matter!
All the people who made Nintendo great over the decades are gone now, either deceased, quit or retired!

The New Nintendo is hot garbage, with a gasoline filled dumper, that continues to burn b.s., after b.s.!

This direct was a 0 out of 10 - Waste of real fans day and time.

I was willing to give your post a read, right up until this bit. That alone told me the rest of your post wasn't worth reading at all, because nobody claims this in regards to ANYTHING unless their ego is bigger than their ass and their left ass is bigger than their face.

You're neither a fan nor a critic. You're just egotistical and think your opinion is law.
10/10 it had everything i wanted
Not a 10/10 for me per se, but I did enjoy much of what was shown in the Direct. Helps that I go into these with no expectations of what will be present, so unlike certain "biggest fans/biggest critics" (read: the usual kind of YouTube/X grifters), my thoughts and feeling about a Direct can be as unbiased as possible.

Hell, I wasn't even expecting Switch 2 editions of all three Xenoblade Chronicles titles to be announced all at the same time, much less an entirely new Xenoblade game announcement immediately after. It's something that will definitely provide more value once my budget frees up enough to get a Switch 2. And while sports games aren't really my cup of tea, good to see that they're keeping things going on that end with NS Sports Resort.

Last edited by ChronosNotashi,
Not sure how they expect to get the OoT remake out this year when all they had available to show was a ten second clip of DLSS5 young Link.
You're right, they'd better drink some coffee, sit up straight, and start work right away. Typing extra fast etc

Ocarina of time remake. Fuck YES ! I am buying a Switch 2 !
They've finally given gamers what they want (well obviously not everyone but certainly a lot of us)

To burst the bubble, my expectation for the Ocarina of Time remake/reboot/port/romhack... is that it will be sourced from the 3DS remake as the CPU architecture for the Switch & 3DS are the same
The beauty of "high-level" programming languages is that the CPU architecture doesn't really matter...
The 3ds version was surely written in c++, but anyway I don't agree with you - I think if it was simply a port / remaster of the 3ds version, the build up / secrecy wouldn't be so big.

This seems like a new game (although it's old), they're reintroducing it etc, I think they're taking it seriously.
And I hope I'm right :D
Hopefully grezzo is not in the credits I guess?

Better controls idk
I guess it's true that there might be some two-screen and Joy-Con shenanigans to consider.

I just watched the teaser, and I'm surprised the art style looks appropriately serious. Here's hoping that it's a robust remake that does more than just copy-paste the original content.

One other thing I hope for is challenging bosses. OoT may be among the hardest of the 3D Zelda games. I never considered OoT difficult, but I'd say the sequels, like Twilight Princess, manage to pull back the difficulty further. (Are the bosses in Majora's Mask, Breath of the Wild, or Tears of the Kingdom difficult?)

Pictured: This whole thread of 40 year-old gamers forgetting that not everyone has played the same games as them because people don't all exist simultaneously.

I welcome the remakes and things. I was damn poor as a child of the 90s. Star Fox coming out is a dream come true since we couldn't afford it. OoT, as well. And imagine all the young gamers who may not even be aware of these games' existence in the first place getting to play higher graphic high fidelity versions, likely with huge QoL improvements. It's a nice thing to see.

Vast majority of people still playing single-player story-driven games are in their 30s and 40s now, very hard to pull the younger generations away from their Fortnite and Roblox because that's what they've grown up with.

Don't come at me, but Link in the OoT teaser looked very "Nintendo hire this man" to me. Not the kind of style I like to see. Will wait to see the game ofc.

New Xenoblade looked good, but the enviroments looked kinda weird. It's like Switch 1 assets with more modern lighting techniques. Discongruent.

This direct would've gone so much harder if it was condensed to 15min. I really don't get why all of the longer directs seem to have less to show than directs that are 15 - 30min. That being said, we finally have the same visuals from the Zelda 2011 Tech Demo!

Hope OoT is not JUST a Remake.
Also hope it's NOT OoT + Master Quest...

I expect new Dungeons, new Mechanics, new Items... but with traditional formula.

OoT deserves it, and us, "veteran" Nintendo fans, who grew up alongside these franchises deserve a better remake justification beyond "Look! Looks Modern" and or "It's because we're making a Zelda Movie".

...

"The Legend of Zelda - The Movie. The Game"
What's the beef with Master Quest? It's the definitive way to play Ocarina of Time

only two games for switch 1 omg
How dare Nintendo make new games for their new console!

I don't know if this is a hot take, but I don't think remakes should ever just do the same thing again. Especially when the originals are still available. If I want to play OoT, I'll just go play OoT. I want them to have the high level structure of the game and do something entirely new with it.

I read this and all I can think is, What a bunch of whinging

- This direct was one of the greatest directs ever, Although First Party was definitely lacking
- Paid Upgrades are not a new thing, And Nintendo isnt even the first to do it
- No?
- Yeah no shit, Nobody is expecting games to run and look like they do on the PS5 Pro or PC at Maximum Graphics, Its a fuckin half an inch thick tablet
- While I'm not excited for an OoT Remake, Its still kinda a big deal

Kingdom Hearts 4 for Switch 2 is a Crazy Reveal
And most of the Third Party Ports are Crazy Gets as well

Best to not take anything that person says seriously. They're a pirate that's in the grifting purely for the clout. Those kinds of people will look for literally any excuse to talk negatively about Nintendo, even if they have to make up things that never even happened.

Key evidence of such people are "I'm Nintendo's biggest fan, and their biggest critic", "I'm not a Sony shill", labelling anything that's even remotely non-negative about Nintendo as "bootlicking", and similar. Bonus if they're related with non-gaming groups that reward grifting.

Absolute shite where’s the next 3D Mario title look I’m getting old now Nintendo I might not live much longer to be able to play it 😤😂
