welcome to gbatemp. Always fun to see another retro enthusiast join the community. I love retro and have pretty much every US nintendo, sony, sega, and microsoft system up to switch 1, PS4 Pro, dreamcast, and xbox 360. I dont play online so I cant be of much help with you there. I prefer offline games and if I am playing multiplayer to me its 100x better having the people your playing with in the same room. The energy and smack talk to me is totally different in person than online. A much better bond is formed when playing people in person which seems to be a slow dying trend.

have you tried PCSX 2 with HD texture packs. In my opinion it blows away the console PS2 expierence and is one of the few setups I prefer emulation over plaiyng on the actual hardware? There is a really good texture group here for PCSX2 and other systems as well but PS2 is really where the packs and emulation shine together imo.

anyways welcome to gbatemp.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I completely agree with you about local multiplayer, That is a quite the collection and i like it, I have those too well not all, I also have switch. nothing beats the energy and trash talk of having everyone on the same couch. It really is a dying art. That said, the one thing I do love about online play is listening to people get absolutely furious at each other over the mic. It makes me laugh every time because I'm just sitting there thinking, "Man, it's just a game!"

That is an incredible console collection you’ve got! I actually haven't tried PCSX2 with HD texture packs yet, but you definitely have me intrigued. If emulation can scale up the PS2 library that well, I’m going to have to check out that texture group here. Thanks for the awesome tip, and glad to be part of the community!

its definitely worth the time to check out some of the HD texture pack upgrades for some of the older games that havent been PC ported or gotten an HD re-release upgrades.

Ive been collecting systems for almost 30years now. Still have my original NES functioning with the power glove. Although the power glove doesnt quite work the greatest its still fun to play. I went a little overboard with a couple systems and got multiples. 4 PS3s, 4 PS4s 2 being regular and 2 being Pros. I got a couple switches the US model and the Japanese model. PS vita and PSTV. When you enjoy retro like I do its really fun to see the little differences between hardware. Nvidia shields, rasberry Pis, and odriods are fun to tinker around with if you enjoy the homebrew aspects of retro gaming. I am going to get into FPGA soon as that market its starting to make great progress. Thats going to be my winter project this year adding a couple mister's to my collection.

I enjoy playing games different ways. alot of 2D games ill play with a regular controller and then replay with an arcade stick. X-arcade's tank stick makes for alot of fun and has adapters to plug into tons of systems. It's amazing how much a game can feel different with different controllers. Some games can wear my hands down and i'll use different contollers sometimes for Auto-Fire/Turbo buttons or just a different layout so it makes them a little easier to enjoy.
