I have a Switch V2 that I had to replace a charging port on, and upon a close inspection I noticed a component is missing on the backside of the board. Anyone can help me identifying this component and its value?
The "R3" marking combined with "948" is actually the SMD code for a 1N5235B (sometimes represented as an \(MPS5010\) type or similar standard 6.8V Zener diode) commonly found in older electronic power-rail or joystick/fan driver circuits.
It has the marking R3 948 on it.
My AI overlord tells me the following but please confirm that yourself :
In the Tronix forum somebody mention that the component is more like a safety feature and the Switch should work without it.
I haven't been able to confirm that either.
