Is it, though? Because if male protagonist attractiveness had even an ounce of importance, Dark Souls/Bloodborne/Elden Ring, Fallout, Gears of War, Kingdom Come, Elder Scrolls, and more would all be dead franchises. It's always female protagonists that people complain about being too ugly to enjoy the game. I wonder why :glare:

You are using too much brain energy on a matter like this. Sometimes on some places most popular Pokémon are not Charizard or Blaziken.... its Sylveon and Gardevoir

Why are they remaking the newest mainline game of the franchise :/ it doesn't make any sense. Rayman Legends still looks and plays beautifully on current consoles...

I hate Ubisoft with a passion.

Edit: The people I just added to my growing ignore list aren't worth my time. This site has already become a MUCH better place not having to constantly see the same toxic shit from the exact same handful of people. I believe most people here are good, but the minority are always the most vocal in their toxicity.

Gee. Imagine that. Nothing but mostly all bitching, whining, and complaining in the comments. The majority of you need to find a new hobby and new website to frequent because it's obvious that gaming isn't really your thing anymore.

Lots of great stuff to play.

Rayman Legends: Retold
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
The Lost Wild
Phantom Blaze 0
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered
No Rest for the Wicked

Control: Resonance
Until Dawn 2
God of War: Laufey
Utter nonsense. However, there has been the style of game you mentioned since the PS3 with things like Heavy Rain & Beyond Two Souls. Heck, even since the 80's there have been FMV games and laserdisc games like Dragons Lair and many others. Just because you don't care for the style doesn't mean they are not games. Like I said, find a new hobby or stop complaining because the games in State of Play are not the only games coming in 2026-2027. Even if they were, they are not all "95% cutscenes and scripted animations" like you said. Not even close. There is only ONE game of that type on the list in my previous comment.

You used an 8+ year old pic of her all dolled up with makeup on for comparison? LOL! Not only did you cherry pick her real life image, you also cherry picked images from the game to portray her poorly in it. I can do the same but opposite. She looks fine & you can also capture MANY images from the game play video that are the spitting image of her. You 100% cherry picked.

Oh, look. It's the "totally not a Sony fanboy", defending Sony's bad takes on enjoyable video games like a Sony fanboy would. Can we even act surprised by that?
Still not as bad as she's portrayed in the game.
Agreed.

While I'm not as picky about character appearances in games, a number of Western AAA companies seem to have this habit of making female characters look at ugly and unattractive as possible in their games. Sometimes, unironically, more ugly and unattractive than ugly and unattractive people in real life, which is quite the accomplishment.

I wonder if this guy's ignore list consists of almost every single top news regular or anyone who even pushed back against him even a tiny bit, would be really fitting for someone who defends Sony to the ends of the earth

No, not really, still shocked that he didn't make any edits to his posts going on how he's totally not mad at people giving him internet stickers yet.

Good lord. Yeah. Everyone that doesn't agree with your opinions is a "fanboy". I mean, who even uses that term anymore unless they're like 12 years old? But you know, I'm not even surprised by that. Bye now. Ignored. This place gets better by the day.

Funny how all of the examples you noted (save for maybe Kingdom Come and Elder Scrolls) are games where a character being ugly as sin would not be out of place, and is sometimes even expected. Especially your first example - we're talking about a dark fantasy series that started with a game where you start as beef jerky, and dying causes you to revert back to beef jerky until you acquire the means to un-beef jerky yourself.

Again, as I noted, I'm not as picky about character appearances, for the most part. What matters - for me, at least - is how little or how much their appearance clashes with the overall setting, moreso one that spans multiple games. And regarding the new God of War game, we're talking about a series where, at least for the Greek-based titles, most of the "ugly" female characters were among Kratos' enemies that he killed on his roaring rampage to slaughter gods.

Huh. You actually replied to one of my comments, despite having "ignored" me before. You're even dumber than I thought you were, and it gives me joy to know that I live rent free in yet another Sony fanboy's head. Keep kissing Sony's ass as they feed you hyper-realistic garbage.
