11.00 or 12.00?

My PS5 is on 11.00 currently and im sending it off on Monday to have the blu-ray exploit unpatched.
What are the Pros and Cons of updating to 12.00 for better game compatibility?

Maybe I got it wrong, but you should be able to get the bd permanent* unpatch with y2jb - p2jb - bdj_unpatch.elf chain.
(*an update will remove the unpatch)

i didnt have youtube installed on my ps5. afaik, it CAN be installed, but youd lose all your data since you have to restore a backup

You can easily make a back up of your PS5, restore the y2jb back up, run the exploit then run the bd unpatch exploit. After that just restore your back up. You lose nothing. Restoring your back up does no repatch the bluray drive.

Does it restore your digital purchases as well? Or just your saves?

My console was pretty bare when I did it, but the backup was 50gb or so. I did not have any purchases from the store though. That said, Sony's site mentions that you won't get back trophies on a restore and it will turn off console sharing and offline play...

i have 1tb internal + 2tb internal + 8tb external HDD.
i wouldnt know where to put all that data, but thanks, i had no idea you could restore it so easily, if you have the space

It mentions on the back up page that a console restore does not touch your m.2 storage, only the internal drive. The game data on my m.2 stayed.

so if i copy everything to my usb HDD i can simply restore it all from there after the hack?

the exploit guide says Y2JB, the youtube one, is for up to version 10.01?

I can't guarantee that your purchases will be accessible after a restore. I didn't have any and I was willing to start from scratch if needed. Would be nice if someone could chime in... They might restore, but be unplayable until you connect to Sony's servers or something, which you would need the latest firmware to do.

y2jb has been updated with p2jb. The 10.01 is for running a different exploit, I believe that's Poopsploit, which is what you can run after unpatching the bluray drive. It didn't work after 10.01 due to the BD being patched and doesn't work after 12.00 because the exploit itself was patched.

Modded Warfare on youtube has a good recent guide on how to do it.

Hi, I’m the « chime-in someone » that also went Y2JB-P2JB + BD-UN-JB + BD-JB (poopsploit) and thus made a backup at the beginning of the process that I then restored once the Blu-ray drive got unpatched.

I can confirm that my digital games (the ones that I chose when making the backup initially and the ones from the M.2 SSD) did in fact stay on the console but unfortunately, I couldn’t launch them anymore. It just threw a random error that doesn’t even mention anything related to syncing with the PSN.

Being in a jailbroken state doesn’t fix the issue. Oh and I also lost my trophies in case that matters.

This was no big deal to me as they were games that I already finished but if this is something important to you (OP) then you might have to think twice before going the Y2JB route.

I am new on this forum but, someone could help me, i am on 12.02 jailbreak but after using shadowmount plus, when i was about to delete game, the game icon still there like ghosting, there is anyway to delete it?
