Registration for Monster Hunter Outlanders' second closed beta is now open

After being announced at the tail end of 2024, it feels like I've seen nothing for Monster Hunter Outlanders. Promising to be a "fully-fledged open-world" mobile entry to the series, the trailer looked to be a genuinely impressive monster hunting experience in your pocket. Not that we haven't already had such a thing on the likes of the PSP and 3DS. If you remain enthused about the upcoming release or are just curious as to what this latest release is going to play like, you might be able to play it sooner than you think.

Registration for the second closed beta test is now open, with you having until the 21st of April to sign up. Those running iOS will need an iPhone XR or newer running at least iOS 17, while those on the Android side of things will need a device running a Snapdragon 845 or newer, running at least Android 12.0. Pre-registration is also available, providing rewards on release if set pre-registration thresholds are crossed.

Well, I signed up. Hopefully it gets a port to the Switch 2 later on (if it's anything good).

One thing I noticed in the quiz was the option about liking attractive characters, that made me curious.
Wait, you got different questions then, I wasn't asked about that :D

It was in the section about what points I cared the most about a game, can't remember the specific point.
But yeah, I had to choose that option as well, just because.
Interesting. Maybe it differs depending on your other choices.

Could maybe be based on the types of games you play? If you say you play the open world gachas, it would be a relevant question to ask as an example. I don't remember what all the options were though.

Second Closed Beta Trailer
I'll just pop the trailer for it here since I apparently missed it when I originally posted.

Like it looks good, but I just don't see how it translates to touch controls. Capcom did a decent job adding touch controls to Freedom Unite for the iOS port, but that game was much slower than this one looks... I dunno... If it supports gamepads I'll be interested.

Exactly how it did with MonHunGo - tap, tap, taptaptaptaptaptaptaptap, mtxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. I honestly feel like most of these blatant mtx bullshits could help themselves integrate by offering mainline game armor spheres or some other useful items per login/week/whatever to even get people interested in spending a buck or playing em.

GPS roamers on things solely to hunt tho - to get more gear mats to.....have to go back out to hunt more in terms of gaming was moot with World/Rise already being at the fingertips of all willing to sans bullshit mechanics and extras.
