Good morning everyone. I bring you another of my contributions to the community: G-Police, the first PS1 game.

The file contains two folders, each from a different CD, as this game came on two CDs. You need to enable texture replacement for each CD separately in the configuration properties.

I hope you like it. Greetings to all.

Hey everyone, I know this isn't the right place to ask, but I'd like your opinion on which version... I played this game as a kid when I got my first PlayStation; it was the first game I ever played on the console. Later, I wanted to try the PC version of the same game, and the difference is huge compared to the console version.

Look at the images; the one on the left is PS1 and the one on the right is PC. I've positioned myself roughly in the same spot to see the differences between them..

Obviously, with the PS1 version and the emulator, it's less chaotic since it's configured to run the game well; there's little you need to tweak. The PC version, being a game from the Pentium 386 era (3dfx Voodoo graphics cards), requires several external programs to run on modern Windows 11 systems: Daemon Tools to mount the ISO. The base game isn't installed on the PC; it's read from the ISO itself. You absolutely need the djvoovoo program to install the files in the game folder (only the game executable is installed; the rest uses the ISO) to make it work with Windows 11 or earlier. Being such an old game, it doesn't recognize Xbox Input controllers; you need Xpadder or something similar, but this is optional. I configured Xpadder to be the same as the PS1 controller, with the same buttons.

Personally, I prefer the PC version, as the console version has obviously suffered many cuts due to the console's limitations when adapting it. Even though the texture improvements I've made for PS1 aren't enough to beat PC

-Configuration: PS1, nothing unless you want to add some enhancements like replacement or other filters... PC is much more chaotic to configure, and if you even manage to get it to boot on modern systems

-Screen: The PS1 has an emulator for 16:9 configurations. The PC is limited to 4:3; 16:9 screens didn't exist back then.

-Graphics: Here, PC wins in every aspect over PS1. The images themselves say it all... Draw distance is double that of the PS1... PC traffic density is very high.; it reminds me of the movie Blade Runner. It gives the game a lifetime... On PS1, you'd be lucky to see four cars, haha... PC runs at a very stable 60 fps, while on PS1 you'd get 15 or 20 fps... It's very clear that PS1 had to make cuts to run stably on consoles..

-The base game: Everything is the same, same story, missions, and units... there's no difference between PC and console.

It's a shame that they haven't remastered this game or that there isn't a modding community to modify and improve it—improving the graphics, adding more units, more battles, etc., or improving the base missions (improving the game overall). I would have liked that, but it seems like nobody is interested in these kinds of games. It's a shame that they haven't remastered this game or that there isn't a modding community to modify and improve it—improving the graphics, adding more units, more battles, etc., or improving the base missions (improving the game overall). I'm asking the community... which version would you choose? The PC version of G-Police or the PS1 version? I'd like to know your opinion.

Greetings to the entire community

Never played the game or even heard of it but if I was to go off of the two attached screenshots id pick the pc version due to it seeming to have a bit more definition and detail. Ill grab the pack and give it a go sometime. Looks good from what's provided. Keep up the good work and hope to see more soon :grog:.
