I realize this might not be the right place to ask, but I have a question about Windows 1.03 for the PC-9800. I saw a post from last July on WinWorld stating, “No original OEM media has been found, but the pre-installed version is still available online,” but I can’t find it when I search on Google. So, has it been removed, or is it still there? Which is it?

sent a dm
Thank you for the information. I’m truly sorry for being so suspicious. I was wondering—the file format is listed as “fdi,” but I seem to recall that PC-98 emulators (such as np21w) typically read HDD files in formats like “nhd” or “hdi.” Is this really the Japanese version of Windows 1.03?

.hdi is a hard disk image, most of the time people hand these out because actually finding floppy disks (.fdi) tends to be hard or impossible

In other words, since the actual installation floppy disk (.fdi) hasn't been found, the version currently available (the one already installed on the hard drive) is being distributed as the .fdi file.

I’m sorry for letting my personal interest get in the way again. Would it be okay if I uploaded the FDI file I received via DM to sites like the Internet Archive or WinWorld? I thought it might be helpful for anyone looking for the Japanese version of Windows 1.03 in the future.
