this happens on all of my games both on EMUMMC and SYSMMC, stock works.

Are you using any themes, overlays or system modules?
Those also need to be updated for FW22.
Try disabling them to see if everything works without them.

i uninstalled my theme after learning that having one while updating my switch can cause problems.

some days ago i installed an HATS pack that contained tesla and other stuff but i got adviced that HATS arent that good so i followed this guide to remove all of the things that pack added to my switch
  1. On your micro SD card browse to /atmosphere/ and delete both the config and the contents folder (or rename or move contents if you want a backup of mods, cheats & system modules)
  2. In the switch folder you can delete everything. Get any homebrew you want to use directly from their GitHub/website. switch-homebrew-releases
  3. Browse to /bootloader/ and edit the hekate_ipl.ini, replace all the text in it with this:
[config]
autoboot=0
autoboot_list=0
bootwait=3
backlight=100
autohosoff=0
autonogc=1
updater2p=1
bootprotect=0

[CFW emuMMC - Atmosphere]
pkg3=atmosphere/package3
emummcforce=1
cal0blank=1
kip1patch=nosigchk
icon=bootloader/res/icon_payload.bmp

[CFW sysMMC - Atmosphere]
pkg3=atmosphere/package3
emummc_force_disable=1
cal0blank=0
icon=bootloader/res/icon_payload.bmp

[Stock]
pkg3=atmosphere/package3
stock=1
emummc_force_disable=1
icon=bootloader/res/icon_switch.bmp

  1. In that bootloader folder, delete the payloads folder.
  2. Search for gitea shise kudbiodd and you'll find "easy-switch-hacking-shise" (Switch hacking is still easy)" page.
  3. Scroll down to Guides for updating (CFW, FW & more) where you'll find Update your CFW and follow the instructions on that page.
    • DO NOT follow the fusee directions and add sys-patch.
  4. Try starting your emuMMC from Hekate.

just to be sure i just installed Hekate Toolbox to check if i have any background services but its empty.

can unhacking and hacking my switch solve the problem or is there a simpler solution?

found 3 errors from today in atmosphere>erpt_reports, all with the same error code

i did some digging online and it looks like its an error reading corrupt data but i dont really understand why or how it happens.

on a side note, i tried installing 2 games that i never played on this switch, one of them somehow works and the other one doesnt. i had to install them in applet mode since opening anything (even with the game that does work) crashes the console.

Hey I was having this same issue and troubleshooting it was genuinely torturing me for the past couple afternoons lmao

Sorry if you care about your saves, but I ended completely initializing it and reformatting everything. I think there's some way to grab your saves before initializing, but idk I didn't care much about that.

I factory reset / initialized my switch, deleted the partitions on my SD card, slow formatted the SD card to fat32 with guiformat, and started over from scratch following this guide. https://switch.hacks.guide/user_guide/getting_started

I think the issue was something in the latest HATS pack corrupting something. No clue what, but I had the same crashing problem until I manually dragged over atmosphere and everything following the guide above.

But yeah, did all that and everything is working fine on atmosphere 1.11.1, hekate 6.5.2, latest syspatches, and 22.0.0.

This was the first time I tried updating with HATS and it was 100% the culprit for me. Absolutely never doing that again. What an insane pain in the ass. Good luck out there lol

You can try to see if DBI / GoldLeaf / JKSV works and whether it can save all your save games.

If that doesn't work, just try installing Hekate and Atmosphere releases from the Github repositories.
The only thing left to figure out are the sigpatches.

hi! sorry for the late reply but after some days of troubleshooting i completly lost my mind over this so i took a break from it.

i too factory resetted my switch and re-installed everything, on the first day everything was going smoothly but somehow it happened again, some of the errors i got (digging in the micro sd files) were ram errors o something similar to it so i initially came to the conclusion that somehow my switch broke.

after reading your message i thought of the idea of trying again.

opening TegraRcmGUI on my PC i noticed that the hekate payload i was injecting was the "ram8gb" version so basically i was using the wrong payload that made my switch games instantly crash.

i double checked with both of the payloads versions so i'm pretty sure that the answer i was searching for was this one.

i'm honestly relieved cause i finally know the answer + my switch fortunally works fine so it isnt broken on the hardware side but i'm at the same time kinda mad at myself cause it was a tiny careless mistake I could easily avoid making T . T

i'm now going to install some other games and try playing them a bit to ensure that everything in the long end will function correctly.

thank you for sharing your story! it made me a little bit less alone cause searching all over the web i couldn't find anyone with the same problem as me and every forum reached out for help didn't know how to help me, hope you are having a good time with your switch!

Hi There, I am dropping this because I experienced the same thing with you guys, I also tried any combination with firmware and hats but only this combination works for me (and I think It will work with all of us)
I solved the problem by installing these packages
1. USE HATS specifically version HATS-2026-05-11-7fba776
2. use Firmware specifically version firmware 22.0.0

It works like a charm for me, (I did Reformat the SD card and recreate the the partition and the emu, but Im pretty sure, we dont have to reformat)
