Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream leaks online three days ahead of its official launch

After reportedly being sold early in the US and screenshots of the game emerging on Discord servers in the past few days, we have now been able to confirm that Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has leaked online. With the game largely focusing on the interactions of your own Miis and building your own island, there aren't likely to be any major spoilers to come of this, but those wanting to keep the experience as fresh as possible should still be wary leading up to the official release date.

As always we want to remind you of our rules, particularly around the linking of warez and other illegal content. While we encourage discussion, you should under no circumstances be asking for links, offering links, or providing the names of sites that host said material. For those waiting on their official copies, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream remains set to launch April 16th exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.

Was the previous leak fake? Either way, what a huge surprise. :creep:
I was really just waiting on confirmation before posting. Not sure if it was circulating prior to this, but it for sure is now.

I indirectly made it onto the front page!!!!!! I know the news I posted didn't make it on there, but I'm still proud for this to be an accomplishment on this own.

Like I said, I'm not too surprised that a Switch one game had gotten leaked. I expect that to be the case for all of them until Nintendo stops supporting that system. Glad to see that Switch 2 games haven't been leaked yet but once that system's moddable..? Then I know what to expect for now on.

At this point, I really just think that it's a competitive battle between Nintendo, modders that want to do things, and greedy Nintendo users who want free games.

The main problem is that stores are breaking the street release date for video games, which is why games get leaked online. If the console has been hacked, stores are usually allowed to break the street release date—for example, for shipments to rural areas or for export shipments. On the other hand, images o such as screenshots or videos can still be leaked from an unhacked console like Nintendo Switch 2. The retail release date is problematic for developers and is one of the reasons why developers prefer the digital or hybrid format. That is why Nintendo Switch 2 games haven’t been leaked online, because the Nintendo Switch 2 hasn’t been hacked by the Scene—or rather, no vulnerabilities have been found. However, the possibility of spoilers for Nintendo Switch 2 games also stems from this, and only Nintendo Switch games have been leaked.

why angry it leaked? you should know the demographic is on this site by now, you've now peaked my interest of who you really are

This does not affect Nintendo. Even with ways to run copied games, Nintendo sales are still high.

Even the 80€ price tag did not stop consumers from buying games on the Switch 2, or the high price tag of the console.
High price of the console? It's only $450. That's nothing these days. In fact, it's nothing historically either. I've adjusted the launch prices for inflation:

Switch 2 shipped in June at $449
Switch $299 in 3/2017 = $395 today
Wii U $349 in 11/2012 = $488 today
Wii $249 in 11/2006 = $400 today
Gamecube $199 in 11/2001 = $361 today
N64 $199 in 9/1996 = $406 today
SNES $199 in 8/1991 = $470 today
NES $179 in 10/1985 = $531 today

The NES was outrageously priced. Greedy 1980s Nintendo 🤣

...huh? Showing the prices in today's money, $450 is about average for a Nintendo console, if anything.

The original price marks really do show historical inflation pretty well, for that matter.

the inflation argument is really bad
the purchasing power of the dollar is not relevant to the purchasing power of the consumer, which is tied to wage growth, unless the minimum wage is tied to inflation
for the switch 2 to be a better value proposition than its predecessor, wages would have to have gone up 50% across the board since 2017, which they clearly have not
if i have to work more hours to purchase the console, it doesn't matter to me what the inflation calculator says, it's more expensive

Yes in 80s the NES was a luxury item, but that does not make the switch 2 less overpriced.
