only idiots pay the prices these rental services are charging. you dont own these games. id rather have less options and have permanent ownership that i can pass on to family than to rent something.

jsut get a group of friends and have each person buy a game and then share them around in the circle of friends after you beat them. its cheaper and everyone in the group ends up owning something instead of nothing.

You will own nothing and you will be happy.
I mean if you signed up for Game Pass, that is what you want/what you are paying for. What is the point of a comment like that? Obviously it is not for the 4% of gamers who whine about physical media (and oh boy are you going to love the PS6 generation when no console has physical media other than the Switch 2!!!).

“Good month” too bad they soiled GamePass with a stupid price hike
Stupid price hike? Beside the fact that gamerboys will have to ask Grandma for more of an allowance, what is stupid about it? Everything from labor to servers to coffee for the break room at MSFT has gotten more expensive. That will eventually be reflected in the cost of their products. Do they not teach economics anymore?

Yes, that's right. Everyone who rents media rather than owns it is an idiot. Note that most of them have made better life choices than you and have accomplished far more. But of course they are idiots.

What?

Wait, I figured Oblivion was going to be on this service day 1? Doesn't Microsoft own the damn ip? lol

Yeah, you're right, people aren't allowed to complain since game devs have unilaterally decided that, instead of letting you buy and tinker with the digital version of their games, they're selling you licences for the games, forcing people who actually want to have rights on their purchases to settle on physical versions.

But yeah, it's the fault of those whiners. Definitely.

I've been trying to fit the new pricing within my budget, but it hasn't made sense so far. I saw Pirate Yakuza and almost signed up, but buying the game from Steam on sale just ended up being cheaper.

Right now you need to roughly be able to finish two non-indie games per month for the price proposition to make sense.

"Game Pass"

Yea already passing up on every single game listed here....

Seriously guys and gals, the amount you dump into subscriptions, why not just set that money aside, collectively build it up, then buy the games you want physically (not counting the digital only titles). Sure that takes more time, but good gosh, what are you going to do when Microsoft shuts all this down, and your library mostly consists of titles you don't even own? You set yourself up for failure here.

And here I thought they were finally getting Mario 64 on there.

On a more serious note, is Game Pass actually good value to most people? I can see someone paying for one month to enjoy a new $60-70 game and then cancelling or playing enough games to recoup the cost of the yearly subscription, but hardly anyone does that.
