How does this work and does it prevent the "failed to apply nosigchk" message?
It's a sys-module that loads on boot, does its thing and then turns off. Simply put, it does the same thing as sigpatches but it's easier to maintain and requires less frequent updates. As for the "failed to apply nosigchk" message, remove kip1patch=nosigchk from your hekate_ipl.ini file and it should be good.

Thanks for the help mate.
This may sound like a super idiotic question but better safe than sorry:
I do 99% of my Switch gaming on CFW-sys with legit games both digital and physical, the one reason I stay in CFW-sys is to avoid the hassle of RCMing for those times I need to go to emunand and updating without having to go get my jig (my Hori Split Pro is a glorified jig but still).
Is it safe to play legit games on CFW-sys after deleting that line from the [CFW - sysMMC] section?

I'm not getting the error on emu which I guess it's because I just haven't updated it because I haven't needed to. I think it's still on 20.0.0 or something.

I can't really comment on that as I personally have another Switch on a stock firmware for all the legit stuff and a modded one for the fun stuff. My guess is that it should be fine since you've already used sigpatches and sys-patch does pretty much the same thing but don't quote me on that.

Funny thing is I've probably done so (getting past the no sigchk message) countless times and just played without minding it so yeah it's probably fine.

why i cant open my games? it says Unable to start software.

這是一個系統模組,會在啟動時加載,執行其功能後自動關閉。簡單來說,它的功能與 sigpatches 類似,但更易於維護,更新頻率也更低。至於「套用 nosigchk 失敗」的提示,請從 hekate_ipl.ini 檔案移除 kip1patch=nosigchk,問題應該就能解決。
It's work for me, thank you for your help bro

Hi, I have a problem with a couple of games since I updated the switch to version 21.0.0. In particular stick fight the game and crash team racing don't work anymore. I tried installing sys-patch and updating manually the sighpatches, I have Atm 10.2 and only those 2 games stopped working, crashing on startups, any suggestions? thx for the help

yes it does if you dont remove that line when using sys patch the error will still happen if you are getting this error after you used the above patches then i suggest using sys patch and removing kip1=nosigck from you hekete.ini and the error will go away

Try reinstalling one of them to see if that will fix the issue, Sometimes booting without proper patches invalidate tickets or something so before you reinstall the game make sure that you have the latest sys-patch and have rebooted at least once.

Thanks for the quick feedbacks, I cleaned the atmosphere folder, reinstalled with sys-patch, I controlled the .ini and I never had that line, I didn't install the sigpatches, all the other games started working as with the sigpatches, I removed the tickets, reinstalled the the game stick fight, but nothing, still the same error "The software was closed because an error occurred".... is there some way to gather a log? I am very very confused

EDIT: I did it!! the problem was some corrupted ticket, I used DBI, I ran the "Clean system of junk" tool and everything started working again! I don't know exactly what the problem was, but it is fixed, thx again

kip1patch=nosigchk from your hekate_ipl.ini file and it should be good.
in my hekate_ipl.ini file is only this :
[config]
updater2p=1

[Atmosphere PKG3 emuMMC]
pkg3=atmosphere/package3
kip1=atmosphere/kips/*
emummcforce=1
icon=bootloader/res/emu_boot.bmp

[Atmosphere PKG3 sysMMC]
pkg3=atmosphere/package3
kip1=atmosphere/kips/*
emummc_force_disable=1
icon=bootloader/res/sys_cfw_boot.bmp

[Stock sysMMC]
pkg3=atmosphere/package3
emummc_force_disable=1
stock=1
icon=bootloader/res/stock_boot.bmp

what should I do?

Which firmware you were previously on?

I think it was 20.something, I don't really remember which exactly 😓
Ah, so you've have probably skipped 21.x.x altogether which broke most of the homebrew apps.
The bad news is that most of them will need to be rebuilt with the latest libnx.
The good news is that most of the apps already got officially updated for firmware 21.x.x and the rest were rebuilt and posted by various individuals in this thread.

I'm yet to update my console to 22.0.0 so I can't say if there are some homebrew apps that are still broken. 22.0.0 broke the way homebrew apps work once again but new Atmosphere maintainers managed to find a workaround which is included in the latest Atmosphere version. There might be a homebrew app or two that isn't working properly but it should be good for the most part.
