Hey everyone! I'm one of the members of the last Spanish translation of Jump Ultimate Stars (which was abandoned at around 50%). Back in 2018 I restarted the project with the help of Tradusquare. Our goal is to translate 100% of the game.
Currently we are at 60%, and we are looking for Japanese translators (Spanish preferred but English is fine) and a Romhacker to help with some of the last image formats.
Progress
Tool
I created JUSToolkit to extract and import texts, containers and images from the game. It can import .po and .png files into the game directly, auto-patching the rom. It's written in C#, using Yarhl and Texim (by Pleonex). I also develop plugins for the game in Tinke.
Feel free to play with it and report any issues or improvements here.
I hope this tool can be used in the future to finish the English translation as well or any other language. I will be happy to help.
Help Wanted
We are currently looking for:
Japanese Translator (ES / EN): we have more than 800 Japanese images to translate (menu images - very simple ones) Also, we need to translate the helper descriptions (the ones shown in the upper screen), and the name of the decks.
Romhacker: There are a few sprite/image formats to hack. I've already done most of them so I guess it won't be difficult. I'll help but I don't have much time at the moment to go deep into it. Also I have some bugs where the game crashes importing images, so a hacker with debugging experience will be appreciated.
Coder: There are a few automation features left, and of course it's always nice to have more QoL features, as well as bugfixing.
The Patch
There won't be a patch until the game is 100% finished.

- Texts 90%. Including the whole JQuiz. We are missing the Japanese names of the pre-built decks, the Japanese helper descriptions (the English version used the same text for every helper) and some of the English abilities.
- Graphics 40%. This year I finished hacking the main sprite formats and we need to translate all the menus and sprites of the game. Everything is in Japanese.
- Romhacking / Coding 80%. There are a few image formats to hack still, plus some coding to do (to automate insertion of these sprites). Also I have some weird bugs with the sprites.
