Hey guys bin away from the scene for a long time.
my ps4 pro is on 5.05 should i update it to a higher FW ?? does it make any sense ?? Which FW is the Golden 1 ?
(reason for updating in my case, there are some games that require higher fw and I couldn,t find any Backport for them)
so the second question can I backport them ??

Thanx in advance

My pro is also on 5.05 and staying on it. It's the most stable of them all. For games that don't have a backport I have a ps4 pro on 9.00 for that. If it's a popular game then eventually it will get a backport to 5.05, you just have to keep checking. Then there are a whole bunch of games I would like to play that are not even on 9.00 or even posted for ps4. These are usually indie type games or AA games. I usually check back in a year and sometimes they pop up but sometimes not. For those that don't, that is where my Switch V1 comes in handy. There are 16k games posted for Switch.

... but if still having ps4 on 5.05 smartest move will be staying there.

EDIT:
No backports is about as good an excuse as "I updated to the latest, because online".

I don't get the point why stay on lower fw?

The only reason is maybe just maybe they may one day come up with a better hack like maybe you could turn off your PS4 and turn it back on and it's still hacked and it's more likely to happen on a lower firmware. But I mean even if you update to say 6.72 or 9.0 you'll still be dealing with backports for newer games but there may be slightly better compatibility there may be some games that no one has backported to 5.05.

Stay on 5.05! It’s the golden firmware according to devs.
Think about it, why are all backports still made for 5.05. They could have easily dropped support for that version a long time ago but there is a reason why they don’t … and you will see, I bet 95% of all devs in the ps4 have a 5.05 in their hand.

And there is stuff you can do on that firmware that you can’t on higher.

Wait at least half a year and see what’s happening at ps4 EOL.

Or sell it and buy another, a pro @ 5.05 is the most valuable ps4 you can have. If you update, the money goes down.

Here in Sweden there was a Pro 5.05 for sale on tradera (our local eBay type) almost went for 600$
