@impeeza i apply a patch but the latest is unpached and i guess thats why i get ams error 024 is SSL when i launch sphaira AiO or nx update checker etc. Without sys patch it worked
Obvious...

The CA verification is for expert use only. Disable all of them.

Maybe they will be removed in the next release.

I recently updated my Atmosphere, Hekate, favorite Homebrew as I haven't done since May 2025
if you follow the NH Switch Hacks Guide, the most you need to do its just download the sigpatches and the Sys-Patch module and they should work without problems
no need to change anything on the ini files if you were using the files provided by the Hacks Guide
I know that process, but that's the issue. The latest sigpatches for atmosphere 1.10 are still not available, and for some reason, any of the various methods I tried to install sys-patch are apparently not working.

I don't think the NH SH guides have the sigpatch files anyway. I've always been getting them from this thread.

They are posted in here, just not on the front page. They got posted a few weeks ago, when the firmware got updated so go back a few pages and you'll find them. I think they also come with an updated modified fusee.bin which you will also need. You can use sys-patch though and then you don't need them, you can grab that from here:

im attempting to install my first .nsp file using quark/goldleaf and getting this error message.

context:
- atmosphere 1.10.0 pre-release
- gold leaf v1.1.1
-sys-patch 1.5.8

i dont yet have any sigpatches, so i had wanted to rule out if that was the issue. i downloaded sys-patch (dragged the folder called "sys-patch-1.5.8-v5" to the root of my sd), rebooted to payload, and attempted again to install the file - got the same error code.

i have no idea if sigpatches are the issue.

i dont know if ive completed the sys-patch set-up process.

any help appreciated

try this version of goldleaf https://github.com/Lightos1/Goldleaf/releases/tag/1.2.0

before changing goldleaf versions, i wanted to make 1 more troubleshoot attempt bc i read an explanation of how to install sigpatches that made me think i installed sys-patch incorrectly (turns out i did).

i had dropped the whole sys-patch folder into my sd root. what i changed to get a correct install was to drop the contents of sys-patch>atmosphere into the atmosphere folder on my sd.

installing the game afterwards worked like a charm.

nonetheless, thanks for your response!

if u downloaded syspatch from here, inside shouldve been an atmosphere and switch folder which were clearly meant to go on the root of your microsd

You will need to reboot the Switch also after moving syspatch files to SD card.
Syspatch belongs to the reboot not required sysmodules. It can be loaded by a sysmodule manager which will let it perform what it needs to do.

Just like a cheat manager will let you load cheats not just at the start of the game but any time you like.

Oh ok, I thought it needed reboot, thanks for the info.

I am so confused. I left the switch hacking scene for a few years. Now I see people mentioning sys patch? I know what sigpatches are, but wtf is syspatch? It is so damn hard to find any solid information online that just explains this stuff flat out.

Would recommend to do a clean install of all your favorite Homebrew that works for Atmosphere 1.10.0
use the Switch Hacks Guide, which gives you all the files ready (if you don't want to configure your ini files yourself, this is much simpler)
https://switch.hacks.guide/ - NH Switch Hacks Guide

and also download the Sigpatches and Sys-patch linked in @impeeza Ultimate Atmosphere Update Guide
This part of the guide in particular

on a clean install, its as easy as just drag and paste the files on the root of your SDCard
I believe you can use both sigpatches and Sys-Patch together, no need to change configurations
Like this. You mention sigpatches but all three of the links you posted have nothing to do with sigpatches. And the sigpatches in this thread are only for FW 20.5.0, not 21.0.0 ; I am so confused it's not even funny.

1: To just run homebrew you don't need any ips patches or sys-patch.
2: If you want to run or install nsp/xci/homebrew forwarders you need to patch some system files.
3: To patch system files you have 2 options.
4: Option 1 - use the latest sys-patch (no need for ips patches).
5: Option 2 - use IPS patches and a modified fusee.bin file.
6: Option 1 is the best choice for you, so ignore ips patches. Just install the latest sys-patch. Reboot your switch and you're done.
7: You will also need to install the latest Atmosphere and hekate:

https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/releases
https://github.com/CTCaer/hekate/releases
https://github.com/impeeza/sys-patch/releases

You should also probably remove your current Atmosphere folder from the root of your sd card if you have one to prevent any issues.

I've attempted to use the syspatches, and it worked.. at first. I installed NES online using TinWoo. Opened up, everything is great. Awesome.

Then I install the update file for NES online. Try to open the software -- "The software was closed because an error occurred."

Surprised I got this far. I'm getting a headache. It's been a few hours now.

Current Version: 15.0.1|AMS 1.10.0|E

Is it because my firmware is outdated? Do I update with daybreak? I'm losing hope.

PS. Thank you for the explanation.

Update your firmware to the latest 21.0.1 or 20.0.5. Some older homebrew might cause issues. The fact that you were able to use Tinwoo to install things means your patches were probably correct and the issue was that NES online is broken or an old version that caused the crash. You should update everything though, use emunand or create 2 emunand (you can switch between these with hekate), then you can have an old firmware and a new one at the same time and have the best of both worlds. Sys-pacth will be compatible with older firmware down to about 10.0.0 (at least the version I have is).

Note: I you are using a linked account, 21.0.1/21.0.0 causes issues with this - you should use modded linkalho to relink your acocunt to fix this (it's posted in this forum).Old forwarders/homebrew will probably crash so you need to use newer compiled apps (most have been updated and there's a thread here with links to them).

its possible that the latest update for nes online requires a later firmware i would research the requirements for it and see if it says it needs for example 19.00 and later than yes you would need to update i would recommend though if you do update to stop at 20.50 if you are a tinfoil user if not than go ahead and upgrade to 21.00 the other thing is if you use amiibos that also i would stop at 20.50 as emuiibo is not working correctly eventhough it has been recompiled for the latest firmware but ultimatly its up to you

How would I go about *only* updating to 20.5.0? For EMUMMC it is simple enough - download the firmware version and update with Daybreak

My question is about doing it on my SYSNAND - if I use Nintendo official servers it will just automatically update me to 21.0.0 right? So no way to actually get 20.5.0 on my sysnand. Don't I want the versions to be the same on EMU and SYS?

dont try to update your sysnand with day break for that you will have to use nintendos servers to update otherwise you risk a ban for sysnand you will have no choice to update to 21.01 but as long as you have the latest hekate you should be fine
