Hi All,

Vanilla gpsp hasn't really seen any development in years, but in that time libretro gpsp has had the benefit of a lot of code rewrites and bug fixes! So I thought it might be interesting to put a wrapper around libretro gpsp to make it a standalone emulator for the PSP again, and also add in Dynarec cache flushing like TempGBA4PSP had.

This is the result -

https://github.com/andymcca/gpsp-temp/releases/tag/v0.1

Just the basics up and running at the moment with very little testing, made for my own intrigue and enjoyment really but thought i'd share it :D

Thanks for your hard work. I gave it a try and found that several games have screen glitches and can't run properly, like mother3、golden sun and some pokemon hacks:rofl:.
No mean to offense. I think just port the libretro gpsp code back might have quite a few issues. Whether efficiency or options for adjust, it's not as good as tempgba.Prosty has already done similar before you.
To short,we need native standalone emulators for PSP and heavily optimized ,IMHO.Or just like retroarch for PSP,it hard to run in PSP now

No offense taken at all! I appreciate you giving it a try and reporting back the issues - like I say it was a curiosity for me more than anything, so much of lr-gpsp has been rewritten from the original source code, and in all likelihood previous PSP optimisations have been removed in the process. Good to hear it works on an actual PSP as I don't own one! :D

TempGBA and FrogGBA will always be better, both based on the TempGBA variants - this was more of a 'what-if' to be honest, as compatability should in theory be better for some games due to the codebase (e.g. Banjo Kazooie shouldn't crash outside the house at the beginning, as that got fixed in lr-gpsp).

Not sure if I will continue working on it, but any specific fault reports might pique my interest to try fixing them!

@oceanco what are the glitches you see in Golden Sun? I am running it on PPSSPP and don't see any glitches?

I did a bit of optimising on the video/sound. Sound isn't quite right yet, but overall it seems to work well on PPSSPP at least? Better on Mario Golf intro for example, but I can't tell if it's just like that on PPSSPP vs an actual device. Pls test and let me know.
