Doesn't really work as "Gaiden" is pronounced with a long 'i' sound - like "guy", not "gay".
It's a Japanese word, after all, and Japanese vowels only have one sound each, so 'ai' always sounds like 'eye'.
It's also why AI: The Somnium Files is named as such - an AI named 'Aiba' lives in a fake eyeball, for one thing.
