Hello, so I've found used controllers but I don't know if they are geniune or not. I've asked the seller photos and he sent me this one :

Why is the light pink ? Is it a fake one ?

Thanks

The light could just be the due to the phone used to take the photo because it looks mostly white to me.
But my issue with it is that the PS button looks black, like the older v1 controllers. It should be grey like the rest of the buttons.

Again that could be just due to the shadow but it looks as if they maybe bought a fake controller, either without the PS logo or with a crappy quality one, and they took it apart to put the black PS button in from an older controller to make it look real.

Another thing is the thumbsticks, they could be worn from use, but fake ones have a flatter, less grippy texture and look like that.

Can't be certain though, would be better to get a photo of the back and top too. But a shell swap could also be a possibility, so original geniune shell with a fake controller inside.

Fakes are pretty hard to spot with pictures, some fakes are almost indistinguishable though I can tell if I had it in my hands. (weight, and how the material feels)
You might want to ask for a picture of the back, spelling mistakes or different fonts on the sticker is another telltale sign.

In a fake, the arrows on the Dpad are usually much whiter than they should be. These don't look too bad.

You were right, I just bought it for 15, it has joystick drift on the right one. But put some WD40 will stop that drift, won’t it ?
I'm tired of being right lol... But hey, at least you got it for cheap. And you don't need analogs for 2D games anyway, so give these few a try: Blasphemous, Crown Trick, Axiom Verge, and if you really hate yourself - Spelunky...

Perhaps it is enough to change the potentiometer. If so, you don't need to solder anything. I bought them a couple of weeks ago on aliexpres to see if this fixes it.
You can look for the procedure on youtube and the potentiometers on aliexpress for 3 or 4€-$

(I can't post links yet, sorry)

EDIT: confirmed. I've received the potentiometers this morning and it solved the drift.

If you search "TIENES DRIFT INCLUSO DESPUES DE CAMBIAR PALANCA? - SOLUCION DEFINITIVA AL DRIFT DE PS4 / PS5 / XBOX" on youtube you can wath what to do (it's in spanish, but you don't need to listen what he say)

also the analog sticks looks different. I have bought replacement sticks from amazon/alibaba and they look exactly like that. The rubber color is slightly different, and texture too.
The PS4 controller is a fake. The label on the back is different than that of the real Sony dualshock 4. The screws are different. The label and screws are dead giveaway when just looking at the pictures.

I usually buy broken controllers to fix them up, greater chances of nabbing an official one. Sometimes it just needs a good cleaning and thumb stick replaced.
