    Copy paste this on your address bar: "3ds.guide" That's the most comprehensive and noob-friendly step to step guide to installing CFW! However, first, check to see what CFW your old 3ds is running exactly (eg: Luma). If you simply have an old Luma, you can also freely update the CFW then it'll be ok to update the 3DS to 11.6 and keep updating normally without losing any functions or risking anything.

    That's not a text file, that's a binary. Download the zip file of this version (last supported by the old Luma versions): https://github.com/d0k3/GodMode9/releases/tag/v1.1.8 Move the .bin file to the payloads and delete HourGlass9. After that, follow the guide on the page: https://3ds.guide/a9lh-to-b9s If you have any trouble, just ask on a thread since I'll be a bit busy from now to to keep checking back on here...

    It's just that I know how it feels to not know this stuff, I used to have GateWay way back in the day, then flashcard broke and had to uninstall the cfw, so without any access to cfw I didn't bother for like 2+ years and forgot literally everything, was a pain getting back on cfw alone despite not remember how things worked and all, so I don't mind helping out a bit. I think many others are like me on here.
