  • Ehh... thinking on it I might not actually get the 3DS. I mean sure it's cool and I want it, but I'm not really gonna use it enough to make it worth it. Plus I've got my retail 3DS running dev fw and in a development shell. I think I'm already getting enough of the experience lol

Plus my bank account will thank me. Put some money in and woah I need to cut back on spending. $5 here and there really begins to add up...

Gonna try selling some iQue WiFi boards to help with that. It'll be $5 here and there but in the opposite direction.

One 3DS is about enough, the market for them have gone up in price unsurprisingly.
Might be getting a 3DS dev unit? We'll see.

All set! I'll go to the bank monday! (and have no money... again)

Also god damn $7 for shipping from germany to canada. It cost me $20 to ship a DS just a few cities over!
Very proud of this video! My first "real" video editing so it's not great, but I'm still learning I guess. Though the audio is inexcusable for an audio engineering student
Why does video editing suck so much. Especially stringing together recordings of me speaking out of my ass and trying to find images to go along with that. Writing is so much better.
HAH! I KNEW I WASN'T INSANE DOWNLOADING EVERYTHING I SEE! Downloaded these a few days ago from IA.

Felt kinda silly cause they'd be up there for a while, not like anyone is gonna take them down... right?

Always make a backup if you are still looking at/want/need something.
After a few idiot thoughts/wrong realizations, I finally figured out the problem with the chips I tried before for iQue.

I bought 5, only 3 work. Reasons could be poor storage, they were broken, they were from aliexpress, they were fake, etc.

I only tried one of the bad ones and gave up. So M45PE40s do work, just gotta get them from somewhere reliable (not fun when they're out of production...)
My friend gave me some carts to make a few iQue WiFi boards. Thought recording the process might be fun.
More photo editing! I learned something kinda useful: make multiple edits for each part of an image (object, background) and then stick the best parts from each together.

Why does this look to me like a reshelled 3DS. The buttons look quite different to my aqua blue 3DS.

I just used whatever parts I had lying around.

    - Motherboard from a friend
    - Top shell + screen from junk thrown in with a package
    - Bottom shell from a hardware bricked 3DS
    - Backplate from random parts lot
    - SD card from a 3DS that was in a fire
    - Buttons from my random button drawer
    - Circle pad from a 3DS XL

Not the kind of buttons most people think of when they imagine a button drawer xD
Ouch... I didn't notice until now that you can see the edits in my pfp. There's a lighter color where I fixed everything. Will remember to look at different monitors in the future.
On a trip to the US and my only computer is a latitude D600 running windows XP. Thank god for mypal because somehow I can load gbatemp and discord with no issues. Might actually get some work done!

he he he, then I did a Nocto, "mypal" is the browser no the friend which helped to setup the computer, he he he, may be I am running low on energy.

    Thanks @SylverReZ :D

XP is the best OS ever, a trade secret: Microsoft Still support and make security patches for XP because the 80% of the ATMs and lot of Factory CNC machines uses Windows XP embedded and the builders of that machines have contract with MS until 2030 for support!!
LEDs should not require an internet connection and mobile app to work. Complete bullshit. Maybe I can fix that though?

I see four pins. Three are for the colors and one is power (5v USB)

Do you think I could solder a bunch of variable resistors like this and have full color/brightness control?

You can calculate the current with the I = V / R formula, it should be around 0.005 to 0.100 (5mA and 100mA respectively) for LEDs.

    Reverse-solving for R = V / I, 5V / 0.035 for pretty good brightness, you need around 142 Ohm (any close value works tbh).

It's slightly more for the red LED, as it's more energy-efficient usually.

Oh, if you want some more good resources, I could link some Big Clive videos if you don't know who he is yet.

Addendum here, as it doesn't fit in any earlier message: measure the variable resistors in their lowest point, if they show acceptable non-zero Ohms, then you could probably even use them as-is without any extra inline resistor.
Tea collection update! This is an Unending Curse which is slowly consuming My life!!! Many thanks to everyone who contributes !

Never heard of jasmine? That's like the tea when you go to an east asian restaurant. Nice, slightly floral. Really soft taste.

Genmaicha is a nice rice tea. Like a gentle green tea with a really nutty flavor.
Darjeeling is a black tea with a bit of sweetness.
Soursop is extremely floral, super sweet, a little bitter. Really potent stuff. Honestly sometimes I'll make a cup of soursop just as an air freshener..

hm, I had ginger tea at a thai place before - but never jasmine

your tea knowledge is pretty interesting - I may have to check out the stock at the asia market nearby

I don't usually find good teas at "normal" supermarkets. Bigelow, tetley, twinnings, etc. Kinda all the boring brands.

What you really have to look for are those little stores made to appeal to a very specific ethnicity. The ones full of imported spices and grains. Sometimes they can be a bit more expensive but almost always you're getting the good stuff.
