    ARGH! I ordered a few M25PE40 flash chips... all the datasheets from every manufacturer say 4 mebibit. Decide to go cheap and use aliexpress to buy chips for testing. What do I get? Chips with M25PE40 printed all over them, but they detect as 1 mebibit! What the fuck!? At least I was smart and only bought 5 chips...

    Sadly the chips I need appear to be out of production and north american sites cost $2 a chip (aliexpress is $0.50). I'd love to buy from more reputable sources but for dumb little tests I'd rather go cheap. (no sense in paying $2 when you're probably gonna destroy the chip in a week or so)

    Just need to find a cheap seller that actually has the chips I need lmao

    LMAO already struck a deal with someone for getting rid of the RVT-R, and it hasn't even arrived yet. I'll clean it and sell it to them once it's done. Hopefully I can get that finished in a couple weeks! Expect a blog entry or maybe some sort of video for repairing the devkit.

    Just spend all my birthday money on a cockroach infested RVT-R Reader. I'm gonna genuinely have a real fun time fixing that up.

    My friend bought it but didn't know it was in that state. He didn't want it so I figured I might as well see if he'll give it to me. I'm giddy with excitement.

    China has (or did have, not sure about now) some silly rules restricting game consoles, and since nintendo already established themselves as a game company, they couldn't sell their consoles. Instead they created an iQue line of consoles and marketed them as educational tools to circumvent these dumb regulations.

    Not sure about the iQue player, but afaik the iQue GBA SP, DS, DSi, and 3DS are all pretty much the same as nintendo minus the fact that they've got different firmware (needed for chinese character set) and a different shell. I might be wrong though. I'm only really familiar with the iQue DS lite at this point.

    That's already in the works. I'm finally able to use some money I got from the school board to fund my nintendo addiction. After march break I should be able to buy myself a new soldering station and a few dead consoles.

    Also I get that like confirmation thing all the time when I'm on slow internet. It's weird.

    It's what I get whenever I use GBAtemp with Javascript disabled. Can probably happen with enabled Javascript if the corresponding script fails to load for some reason.

    I prohibit third-party stuff via uMatrix, which gets rid of ads (🤮) and tracking (🤮 🤮 🤮) and various other annoyances. The main site scripts are allowed.

    You know what I hate? Times when someone asks a legitimate question and everyone just replies with "your idea sucks" and "do this instead, it's better." My big example right now is searching how to use a USB as swap/extra RAM (I have craptop with 4gb RAM, and it constantly crashes from running out of resources).

    I can get a single sandisk 32gb USB for about $4, so it's no big deal if it dies. I can't afford a new hard drive just for this though.

    there is a thing called RAM Drives, which basically is create an exteneded "RAM" which really is a External Disk, they "works" fine on SD cards connected to onboard readers, for other type of disks can work fine or bad it depends of lots of configurations.

    I just remembered the file compressor I wrote for the C64. I was kinda stupid though and never wrote a decompressor... I've got a bunch of compressed files somewhere with no way of getting the originals back. They're just random images, so it's more funny than anything else. The most useless program ever.
