Sure enough, most people online are just saying "it's too slow, you should buy more RAM." I don't want to buy RAM, and I don't care about speed. I just want to use a damn USB to prevent my hourly crashes from running out of RAM! I'll take slower if it means I don't need to reboot over and over.

I feel like a god now lmao. This fake RAM is not slow, and I can do more with my computer than ever before. If it weren't for my CPU I could probably go waaaaay higher.

Since you don't want to add RAM, would a lighter Distro maybe without a DE help?

I've gone to lighter distros already lol. Also I think some of the programs I use need a DE. I'm good now though, so no more worrying about that!

One thing I like about my thinkpad R500 is that is has the final Core 2 chipset: Max of 8GB DDR3. 4GB sticks of DDR2 are super expensive. Right now I only have 6, so 7 and Linux it shall be!

What distro do you use? I use XFCE majaro. An okay distro, but certainly not the best.

I haven't decided yet; might do Cinnamon since I saw a nice AERO theme and I want to have that on both 7 and Linux.

USB swap? Wow, that's pretty good. Still, you might want to be careful, as constant writes to the flash drive will wear it out quicker. FYI get a hard drive; better still, solid-state. These last much longer with constant writes and rewrites.
