Visual of the Switch 1 hacking timeline, with a visualization of where we are from the switch 2 launch (152 days post launch)

So GVG put out a video about accidentally being able to watch YouTube on Switch 2. The Switch 1 software "Super Animal Royale" has a link to a YouTube video on the title screen, that opens in the browser applet. Since it's YouTube, you can visit embedded links in descriptions. Some sites seem...

ROM Hack [Question]ACB/AWB Audio file format decoding

Wanted to shout out that this tool is what I needed to extract the music data from DariusBurst CS Core (Switch version), which stores the music data in *.acx/*.awx files. The tool needed the files to be renamed to *.acb/*.awb accordingly, but it worked. I used the 1.0 beta1 from this site...

Angry Video Game Nerd announces new game "AVGN 8-bit" compatible with a real NES

This is being developed by Mega Cat Studios, who have done more than their fair share of commercial homebrew games for NES and SEGA Mega Drive / Genesis, which have been included in Evercade compilation releases. https://evercade.co.uk/cartridges/mega-cat-studios-collection-1-cartridge/...

ROM Hack RELEASE 60 FPS Cheats for NSwitch

Hi, I believe you authored the FPS mods for Sonic x Shadow Generations, which I've been using with Ryujinx. An update v1.1.0 was recently released which includes support for a new DLC in the Shadow Generations title, and v1.1.0 support for the FPS mods would be really appreciated. I've not...

Rumor Industry leaker claims that the Nintendo Switch 2 will have backwards compatibility support

It's not a foregone conclusion. Sometimes backwards compatibility is straight-forward, when the necessary hardware is still present in the successor hardware in some form, e.g. GBA -> DS, GameCube -> Wii, Wii -> Wii U. For the PS3, the PS2 backwards compatibility was achieved by basically...

WIP (Mameda no Bakeru English Translation)

One thing I'm anticipating is that when choosing between the English and Japanese versions of the game upon launching, that some content will be exclusive to one-another. Basically that the Coro Coro content will be exclusive to when playing in Japanese (two levels and the festival masks). When...

WIP (Mameda no Bakeru English Translation)

I think it's likely that the Japanese release will be updated with the English language support. The Bakeru demo they released yesterday lets you pick between English and Japanese when you start it. Compared to the Japanese v1.2.0 release from before, they've made some pretty good improvements...

Nintendo takes down Yuzu-based emulators including Suyu, Sudachi, Torzu, Uzuy and Nuzu

As much as I hate this, wasn't part of the Tropic Haze settlement that Nintendo now owns the Yuzu program and source code, making it their protected intellectual property? Actually trying to continue to use it is tantamount to using an unauthorised version of Libultra for N64 development. It's...

I am very surprised to see that a fan translation would be the subject of a cease and desist order. Sorry to see it happen, I was really appreciative of the translation.

Two Japan-exclusive Mega Man Battle Network spinoffs games get fan-made English localizations

Localization, the team at Rockman EXE Zone are very thorough with keeping translations accurate to the Western English releases in terms of character naming, motivations, speech patterns and nuances, as well as terminology and naming conventions. This isn't their first time doing a translation...

Does this mean that there's code-entry somewhere later on in the game to receive various cosmetics? I was worried that they might be eShop DLC codes, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's frustrating that it takes such a significant effort to support a new update, but it does not go...

WIP (Mameda no Bakeru English Translation)

They've updated their site with details of the new v1.3.0 update, and it appears to include an additional "ultra difficult" CoroCoro themed level with two more masks, as well as fixing some other unspecified issues...

Can you clarify if you're playing on a modded Switch with CFW, or on an emulator such as Ryujinx or Yuzu? I've been playing through the game using Ryujinx, as it performs very well that way.

Emulator Red Viper - Virtual Boy emulator

It might require some modification of the ROMs to give BG and object layers depth values. I recall this was the approach the SEGA 3D Classics releases took using a specialized Mega Drive/Genesis emulator and specially modified ROMs.

Wow, the turn around was much faster than I expected for producing the new version of the mod. I'm deeply appreciative! I'd been holding off playing a bit longer because I was concerned about the performance, and this is great! Thank you very much for this.
