Feedback Hardware Oldies Others Homemade Xbox component cable restarts system

Well folks, problem solved! I just repasted the thing and what do you know, I'm playing with my homemade component cable. So my work was ok after all, I just neglected to give the old thing a repaste, I guess. Thank you for the nudge, @tech3475 :)

Mario & Luigi: Brothership leaks online 2 weeks ahead of release

Sigh, just as I repurposed my Switch SD card for another device.

    Analogue will start pre-orders for their FPGA-based N64 re-imagined console "Analogue 3D"

Yup, even with the DIY-knowhow to put together a MiSTer, there's no competing with Analogue's build quality unless you're seriously skilled.

250 smackers sounds quite reasonable, would probably even get one if the import fees to Norway weren't so dramatic. At that point building a MiSTer is a better choice since it can do a lot more systems in one.

unlimited games but no games :(

Throwing in my kudos to Metroid Prime: Hunters.. Favourite game on the DS by far, and the first Metroid game I played. A lot of people give it flak for the controls, and perhaps rightfully so, but I personally had no issue with the stylus aiming. It felt quite natural, and I actully think the...

I'll definitely make sure to check that when I can! Hell, I really should re-paste both my boxes anyways... I'm sure it's bone-dry under those heatsinks. Gameplay is stable with composite video. Do you think simply using component output might make the components significantly warmer?

I think at that point it's not really "cheap" anymore, and I'd rather keep trying to make this hobby project work. Cheaper, more fun, and I get something useful out of it. Honestly, with my personal finances it's not even cheap to begin with, but I agree it's a good price for what you get. Ah...

Aye, at least they seemed to be. Checked them with a multimeter on both ends, nothing crossed. Will have an image up when I get to the cable sometime next week. Is what I'd recommend to most people as well, so I appreciate your pointer. However, it doesn't ship to Norway so getting it cheap as...

Super Mario Party Jamboree has leaked online a week ahead of its official release

Game's actually pretty fun. I'm missing a local wireless option though, would've been especially perfect here. Probably someone who works at a retailer. Shops get copies early, person working at (store name) snags a copy and dumps it with their modded Switch, easy peasy.

About a year ago I tried my hand at converting an Xbox 360 component cable into one usable on the original Xbox. My soldering isn't professional-grade by any means, but I've checked my leads with a multimeter and nothing is bridged, and is grounded properly. These are the instructions I...

    Unpopular Opinions 2.0

Don't care much for Steam if I'll be terribly honest. To me it just feels slow and janky in its usage, just to start a game. It keeps trying to get me to use all of its other features, like the community, trading cards, and what have you. No thanks bub, the first thing I do when I install it is...

    What you did in 2004?

If I had to pick one note-worthy thing in 2004 it'd be me wrestling with Steam on Half-Life 2 launch so I could play it at 18 frames per second. And I loved it. Not a great first impression for Steam though, I still hold a grudge.
