Wii #1288 - Major Minor's Majestic March (USA)

anybody run into disc read issues with this release? google-ping doesn't show anyone else running into the same problems, but i thought i would ask anyway. reminiscent of the brawl errors where the disc would stop reading mid-load -- i've yet to see the tutorial, it seems to crash after i...

    DS #3615: Touch Mechanic (USA)

there was a problem with the game while i was playing the old eng-hack version. i got to the first car show, but my car wasn't suped up enough to get past the stage, yet i didn't have funds to make it any fancier, nor the option to go back to play older stages to get more money.

DS #3575: Imagine My Restaurant (Europe)

but that would just be too much work, and would fly contrary to the modern expectation of instant gratification.

    DS #3523: Burger Island (USA)

Hell's Kitchen DS wasn't bad. Cake Mania 1 & 2 were good, but it was a bit easy to get confused b/w circle-oval, square-circle, and some of the toppers. I'm still playing Sally's Salon. The later levels get pretty manic. The interface for SS is solid. Burger Island has been .. disappointing.

DS #3539: EA Sports Football Academy (Europe)

@ hardcoregamer judging games by their covers is the MO of 80% of this board. heaven forbid they track down and try games before posting. the minigames were mediocre, but i loved the player cards and the actual matches! the matches remind me of the older famicom soccer and basketball...

DS #3495: Grey's Anatomy: The Video Game (Europe)

c'mon, it was pretty hilarious. Meridith: "i was planning a marathon of my own. without joe pesci " and Korev in bed w/ Lexie to start his chapter. only wish it was more open ended to allow for complete messing-around of relationships, like the sims.

    DS #3446: PÃkin Express (France)

People also forget that Ubisoft, Vivendi, Infogrammes all started as french companies (and some still are). Also, I remember playing games from Titus when I was in highschool -- Blues Brothers and Titus the Fox on the PC. Additionally, Peking Express is a Dutch reality show (also French now)...

DS #3439: Puzzle Quest: Galactrix (USA)

while GUI on the PC version (installed, not flash) is better, i'm just finding the animations and transitions starting to irk me, compared to the no-frills approach of the DS version. i suppose it's a personal preference. but you're right, the AI on the DS is far wimpier. also -...

DS #3439: Puzzle Quest: Galactrix (USA)

quite the contrary, i found the PC version's UI more sluggish than the DS. the DS is nice and no-frills, and makes much better use of the space.

DS #3439: Puzzle Quest: Galactrix (USA)

i'll have to declare shenanigans on that accusation. i ran across just as many insanely long unpredictable chains as the computer. the key was eliminating jewels at the bottom of the stacks, to give yourself more opportunistic matches in the middle and top of the screen during the ensuring...

DS #3440: Legacy of Ys: Books 1 & 2 (USA)

... i .. never played .. 3 & 4... i knew 3 was out on the SNES, but didn't investigate further. off-topic, but did you ever play Wonder Boy: Monster Island on the T-CD? music was amazing there as well. just when i think i'm alone in a sea of anklebiters, i'm relieved to see compatriots who...

DS #3439: Puzzle Quest: Galactrix (USA)

at its core, it's still a match-3 system like PQ1. instead of 4-directional gem-swapping in PQ1, you have 6-directional gem-swapping (up, down, upleft, upright, downleft, downright). matching 3 or more mines in a row will deal damage. the mines have a number on them, and will deal damage...

    DS #3429: Cookie Shop (Europe)

great hilarious review !! some is taking their casual gaming awful serious. that being said, adopting such a megalomaniacal attitude may be the only way to make it fun. i played about one week (of game time) and the game is pretty painful. the limit on number of tasks that can be done daily...

DS #3440: Legacy of Ys: Books 1 & 2 (USA)

wow, that quote brings back memories .. i played the hell out of the PC-Engine / TG16 CD release, not knowing at all what to expect back in the day. who would have thought smashing into people would be so much fun. and i used to toss the CD straight into a CD player (discman and boomboxes) for...

DS #3439: Puzzle Quest: Galactrix (USA)

the demo was released on the PC a few weeks ago. very different approach to the overworld, and may be a bit too daunting/complex for the casual players that managed to get through PQ1.
