    Download GBATA, check the save type and SRAM patch it if it isn't SRAM. For me EEPROM-games never saved/loaded without SRAM-patching it.

    And normally the reason for that is that the R4 doesn't get in contact with the DS (not every DS is 100% equal to others). In 3 cases (one more since I posted the description^^) the method which I described helped.

    You could try Yasu's back2fw to jump back to the DS firmware. Didn't try it myself because I'm using YSMenu and it has a integrated back2fw (but should work the same).
