    I tried renaming the save and it didn't work. if you have the .CIA it'll work, but I don't. I've been looking for a way to convert the save to .CIA, but haven't had any luck so far

    So from my understanding, they'd be able to use my .3ds header and .sav, convert it to .zav, then back it up with SaveDataFiler. Thanks for your help. Gotta go find an MT card user now :D

    That's unfortunate. I've been trying to get my save converted so the MH3U transfer tool will recognize it. Would an MT user need my header, since it's only a .3ds?

    I've never thought of that, but it makes sense. I ripped it from a cartridge, so the header should still be there. Would I be able to convert the save in that case?

    What about card1 saves that have only been played with gateway on 9.x emuNAND? I tried on GW and it's not detected, at least for MH3U

    Unfortunately I never used a cart to play. My brother has the cart I ripped the rom from, and it's probably not possible to backup his save, restore mine, transfer to the wii u, then restore his save. He plays on a 3ds above 7.0, so I don't wanna risk it. You should be able to use the transfer...
