    I would update your emunand to GW3D 8.x right now (while the option is still available). Just consider it insurance for the day you'll want to play a newer game, that needs the newer firmware.

    No. You need an older 3ds with firmware between 4.1 >>> 4.5 to run gateway. If you have an older 3ds on one of those firmwares, you can fun gateway and have it spoof newer firmwares (so you can play newer games).

    Not possible. From everything I've read, any backed up system nand/emunand is tied to the specific DS system it was pulled off of. That's why it's so important to back up your nand. If you're system firmware ever gets updated by accident (or your SD card carrying your emunand becomes corrupt)...

    Most likely. Delete & reload that rom back onto your microSD and then it should work (as long as you don't have a bad rom dump).

    I picked up a Sandisk Ultra Plus 32gb microSD UHS-1 [40mb MB/s] at costco. It's currently on sale: 22.99 + tax. Seems to be working perfectly.

    Success! Got it working on the R4DS (v1.18) Used patch from post #211 on US version, then loaded up the smaller file (83.89mb) onto the R4. Copied over my saved game I created, right before I got to the transport station. Started game and got past the transport freeze without a problem...
