    The iosu supports 5.5.1 the latest firmware. the entrypoint/way to launch might be different depending on your firmware. since you are on 5.5.1E, you cannot update further. 5.5.1U is for USA consoles.

    Code tends to handle most of the process. Launching it is the fun part. If there is a boot exploit it would require some additional setup, same with emunand if it happens.

    You should be able to update to the latest 3ds firmware in emunand by now (check depending on what cfw you have). Also you can use opendns, which lets you set custom addresses to block. I'd recommend it as the second DNS though . especially if you have dynamic ip addresses on your router.
