I was brave enough to try it at the expense of my heart beating like that of a racehorse... so I will think twice before doing this again =p

d2pro 15-wire solder, Updated to 3.3E, rebooted... Homebrew channel started fine, tried trucha signed No More Heroes (NTSC->PAL) - "An error has occured", so I assume the days of region patching are gone. Rebooted my Wii and I get hit by a "Your system files are corrupt, contact Nintendo tech support" message which scared the living hell out of me. But after changing out of my newly soiled underwear I tried booting it again without the NMH-disc and luckily it worked. A regular PAL backup is booting fine now as well.

conclusion for euro consoles, should ofc apply to usa:
does not ruin homebrew channel if already installed, dont know what happens if you install it after the update
disables trucha signing (freeloader?)

these people in the comments said that it affects homebrew =/

Um nothing is confirmed there, someone just posted that you could delete the news/weather/photo channel and save 53 blocks, and "It’s something about Miis, plazas and parades, and unauthorized save data management."

And then someone speculates that you can't use homebrew. I'm guessing if the saves aren't signed then it won't work right. So VC/WiiWare should be fine, just the Twilight Hack is probably fixed. Though I'm sure it's not fixed good, I have a feeling it just checks like an MD5 or something on the known saves, an update could easily be made.

Until something is 100% confirmed file this under Speculation/Rumor.

Why bother updating when you can install any game you want, and play any burnt game you want. They add NO new features, and you don't even need it to get online on other games (right?).

Ah Nintendo is pulling the ole Sony. AKA Here is a new firmware with 1 new feature and 80 new security fixes.

The same guy who posted about the channels, posted that he was kidding on the next posted

Only speculations till now..

I can confirm that the Twilight Hack has been deleted from the Wii:s memory. Possibly able to install it again, I wont attempt this though...

its not even that good considering we now have homebrew channel and the only regret i have is mfe only worked with tp

And so the cat & mouse firmware game continues...

Listen Ninty, I bought your product. You have my money. Now 'F'-0ff with your supposed upgrades and firmwares(lock-0uts).

If i want to drive over it on the road and crush it to bits or eat a fried egg off of it, it's my business. This Wii belongs to Mii.

They're pulling that old $ony, M$ crap. If a brilliant mind has come up with a SOLUTION to IMPROVE your stagnant device, so be it.
Just let it happen. Or be like the rest(PSP etc.) and COPY the Homebrew geniuses(D_A & Mat.) and implement or include innovations in future updates and claim them as your dev's ideas.

meh....

i won't be updating. If this doesn't make my overall experience BETTER, then what's the point.
Get a grip Ninty pleease....Don't be like the rest.
