so do you actually play matches? Or is like a regular RPG elements where skills are soccer-'attacks' ? Like a ARPG-soccer game hybrid?
 
Isn't that the voice of Naruto for the japanese version? Game looks fun. I might try it.

The best thing to do would be to get your hands on the Level 5 Premium demo from TGS 2007 and give it a try. The demo of course is heavy on the japanese text but well, once you blag your way through the convos and scenes which don't really give anything away, you get to play a match. Basically though, you get to play matches using Stylus controls to pass, shoot tackle etc. There's a bit more to it than just that though, but I'll let you discover that for yourself. It takes a bit of getting used to but I found it worked pretty well in the demo. Really hoping for a western release. Level 5 have so far been an excellent developer.
 
Yeah, you do get to play some matches, which is cool. It would definitely be great to play that demo. Even if we don't get an english release, I'm still getting this. It looks absolutely BAD-ASS!

The level of imagination and creativity that is going into this game should serve as a lesson to most of the developers out there who continue to provide us with an unlimited amount of DS "shit-ware"!!!
