Wiikey team comments on SSBB

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

News from WiiNewz.com

Quote:
WiiNewz contacted the Wiikey Team in regards to compatibility issues with "Super Smash Brothers Brawl." Here are their exclusive comments...

It has just been made aware to us that SSB does not work with wiikey.
We are looking into it and are also working on a dual layer disc
dumper, so that any update hopefully will be compatible with a backup
of the game.Â

-edit- that was supposed to be SSBB not SSRB sorry ;p
-Zarcon: Fixed for ya. =P

good news, i hope they dont need too long to make this update

Good news; it seems to me that the core problem is that the WiiKey didn't really support Dual-Layered discs. A rather simple problem to fix, fortunately. Even legit dual-layers of different regions would have trouble, since the WiiKey still has to "read" it.

Things are finally happening.

The fix will probably take a few days but it's worth waiting for.

Thank you Wiikey Team!

I expected this to be honest, people were screaming "WIIKEY IS DEAD!!11!!" when galaxy was out as well, a week to update doesn't seem too dead to me.

Funny how earlier today everyone was cursing Wiikey team and saying they regretted buying one

Yeah but we were so jealous of everyone with another chip, we also want to play the game so that's why there was alot of cursing involved. But people have seemed to calm down a bit due to Wiikey Teams response.

Wiikey = D2ckey =D2pro

Its not "are they maybe?"
Its a fact.
If I pay the same person to send me the modchips, then I am paying the same team for development
And their bank account hasn't changed since March last year.

Wait..... If Wiikey doesn't support Dual Layer and the people trying to dump SSBB are using the Wiikey dumper to dump to an SD Gecko, then wouldn't that just be as useful as trying to fit ~9L of water into a ~5L bucket? Or is there another dumper that will work under Cyclowiz or D2C?
... or am I totally missing something?
If we have to wait for a Wiikey update for their DualLayer dumper, then ugh... they better get their stuff together.
