yeah, the solder job does look suspect but it's possible that you just have one or multiple cold solder joints and that you've not ruined the chip just yet.

however, based on seeing your efforts thus far, I would reccomend that you have someone else perform the install rather than continue yourself. you're going to have an unpleasant surprise when you see how small and close together the points are on the wii's optical drive motherboard.

try to seperate that one part to avoid a short, it should still work after that. Mine is almost that bad lol

I recommend not using a flame thrower for soldering.

if you can, purchase some desoldering braid and remove your existing solder and try and start over from scratch. otherwise, have someone else do it for you.

You better stop now. Pay somebody to clean up the chip and install it for you.

Or practice on something bigger to get a hang of how solder flows and how to use the iron correctly.

seriously, stop what your doing. your gonna mess your wii up - the ones in there are smaller than the ones on the wiikey..

You done broke your english with the title of this thread!

As others have suggested find someone to install this for you. The points on the Wii are extremely close together and tiny. You would not want to damage your Wii trying to install this.

Way to much solder was used on those wires. You should have tinned the wires before hand and used flux on teh board. Doing so would have ensured a cleaner and easier install.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about then you need to stop what your doing and walk away from the chip.
