I believe the AK2i is glued together and not held together by clips. I don't think it matters where you start prying.
I have successfully taken apart the newer batch of 2.1's. Grab onto the slot of the 2i, and then pull until a little crack comes from one of the sides of the slot. Use an X-acto knife or something and cut around the cart. There are areas of glue around the corners of the cart.
