The game disk comes with the homebrew killer Oct 23rd Update. Every time I go back to 3.2U though I have to re-update. Is there any sort of stealth firmware I can use?

just boot with GeckoOS 1.07b

works fine on 3.2

there are channels around, and the Wiigator launcher channels will work too.

Have you confirmed this somewhere? My son installed the updates from the game yesterday (retail version) and I did not see IOS51 in the list afterwards. If you have seen this confirmed somewhere please link to the source.

Thanks

Just use starfall and choose bypass the updates or wait till csm(custom system menu) come out which has that same feature.I have all starfall hacks installed and they work great.
And are you sure its the oct 23rd or just the normal 3.3

just install that wad, it will allow you to boot animal crossing through disc channel on 3.2 with updates blocked by whatever
Can someone confirm this?
And can someone confirm if I can install this on a PAL wii, and play my PAL patched accf through the discchannel afterwards?

Not showing up on my wad manger..Any ideas why? (Other wads show up just fine)

EDIT :

Alright Animal Crossing City Folk NTSC USA Scsrubbed works but not..Animal_Crossing_City_Folk_USA_Wii-Goomba

With the Goomba version it shows up.. The game disc could not be read. Refer to the Wii operations Manual for details.

The wad worked fine with the scrubbed version. Any explanation why I get this error with Goomba's version? Bad burn maybe? Burnt at 6x. Using Wiikey 2 on a NTSC wii version 3.2U

It's been confirmed to work on PAL.

IOSes aren't region specific AFAIK, just the system menu and channels.

I wouldn't worry too much about the update yet. I got the game yesterday and I was so glad to finally have it that I couldn't help but update, hoping it wouldn't break my homebrew.

Guess what, it all still works perfectly. Homebrew Channel, emulators, WAD Manager, Backup Loader, various utilities... All of it still works. I'm not sure what the update was or did, but I already had the Wii Shop Channel cIOS installed, so it couldn't be that. I assume it may have something to do with Wii Speak, but that's seems to be about it.

Now, I'm not saying that you SHOULD update, we all know there is a risk associated with updating from Nintendo, but so far I don't have any problems.

All the Animal Crossing update does is install System Menu 3.3 and install the new versions of IOS30 and IOS31, and it adds the new IOS38.

So basically.... 3.3v1 + IOS38

All the other IOSes in the update partition are the old ones that still have the fakesign bug.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
