i see. what about v2 that is already been modchipped with sx core?

It is less headache with a V1 trinket if you want a modchip, V2 would need the chip as oppose to v1 unpatched, SX is no longer in business, so even if you get an SX core you need to use Atmosphere.

Hi, I am back again. I have just downloaded a game. I have no idea what to do with this. any help?

yeah i can buy v2 that already been modded and use atmos cfw. but is there any support for v2 models?

Not really sure on the price of SX Core / HWFLY as they are hard to sourced, plus you need to solder the chip, unless you can solder yourself you are looking at spending more money.
i don't need to source one to install what i mean that switch is already has sx core installed for sale.

Since it is already chipped it will work just fine. as far as atmosphere, homebrew and games are concerned a V1 and a Chipped V2 are essentially the same machine…just different methods to get to CFW.
will in future that V2 will get all supports like V1 equally? such as update, troubleshooting issues. etc.

SX Core has been around for years. Still going strong. The new OLED switch was hacked using same methodology. If there was an opportunity to neutralize the chip via software they would have done it with the OLED…instead they tried to physically hide a critical pin. I think V2s with SX core have very little to fear.

edit: there are some slightly different challenges and edge cases during troubleshooting but IMO it’s not that big a deal.

mmm, hope nothing goes wrong in the future if one of solder connector get separate >< seems it a gamble. leaning toward to v2 more dues to battery life and better display panel.

You’re going to be running unauthorized software written by the good people of…wherever. we’re not here playing it exactly 100% safe.

Sure, a solder joint could go bad and you might be back here asking for soldering tips. Then again the same thing could happen on a V1 or a V3 for that matter.

Listen, I’m not trying to sell you on any particular version…I have no vested interest. I think availability and budget are a big factor…after that, play games, run homebrew, make the machine do things Ninty never intended for you to do…but mostly have fun.

edit: a thread talking about the likelihood of an SX Core patch
